Fire smoke dampers will be added where required by 2018 IMC Section 607.5.5 and 2018 IBC Section 713.11 Not Complied the duct in question is the 5" dryer duct going up vertical to roof inside wall studs which you have not addressed. Response: We reviewed the comment with the Mechanical Plan Reviewer during a virtual meeting on April 25th. We confirmed that the dryer vents meet all the requirements of the exceptions to section 717.6.1, 2018 IBC except for #3 (maximum 4” nominal diameter). We have reduced the size of the dryer vents from 5” to 4” to meet the requirements of Exception #3 and attached the manufacturer’s installation manual for the specified dryer. Please note that all dryers will be provided with the long vent system option to exceeds the longest dryer vent provided on this project. the installation instructions for the dryer is not in the submittal's provided. please submit the installation instructions Complied 2.
