URGENT application to demolish a formerly garage, at rear of property, adjacent to Herbert Ave. This is NOT a contributing structure for the West University Historic District. It was badly built of stacked hollow orange chimney blocks, with minimal mortar, covered with stucco. In late 2025 the stucco peeled off much of the base, revealing that there is no structural reinforcement at all! The structure is in imminent danger of collapse - see photos. The date of construction is unknown. It was there when my late wife bought the property in 1992, but does not appear on maps submitted in 1979 for the WUNA Historic District (created in 1980). The structure has not been used since 1992. I seek permission for total demolition and removal of the structure, as soon as possible. I have no plans to build a replacement structure at this time.
