Description:
This Commercial New Building Permit submittal is a follow-up to the Pre-Application Conference review of the proposed wastewater pretreatment facility expansion at the Faribault Foods, Inc (Arizona Canning Company, LLC) site under Plan Number TP-PRE-1125-00238 and the development package permit submittal TD-DEV-0126-00008.
The proposed construction will consist of:
1. A new concrete slab with a protective canopy of approximately 18’ interior eave height (22' peak height) to cover the wastewater process equipment. The sides of the canopy will be open air.
2. A new pre-engineered metal building (PEMB) approximately 54’x37.5’ (2,025 square feet) to house electrical equipment, blowers, and chemical dosing equipment.
3. Two new bolted-steel, open-top, above grade tanks for wastewater equalization (47.5’ diameter and 32.5’ tall) and biological treatment (55.5’ diameter and 24.75’ tall), and two new closed-top FRP sludge storage tanks approximately 13’ diameter and 28’ tall.
4. A new cooling tower (18’ tall) installed on a 12’x12’ concrete slab.
The drawing sets for the proposed wastewater pretreatment facility expansion at the Faribault Foods, Inc. facility in Tucson, AZ. Faribault Foods and G3 Water Engineers (G3) were advised by the building official via email to split the Commercial New Building application into (2) separate permits:
1. “Permit #1”is to cover the construction of the two bolted steel wastewater treatment tanks, cooling tower, and sludge storage tanks, and associated underground piping TC-COM-0526-00737 (Building Permit #1 Application).
2. “Permit #2” is to cover the slab and erection of the pre-engineered metal building, equipment canopy, and associated building systems designs.
Per email correspondence with COT Building Department, the Permit #2 submittal will be broken into a “Phase 1” (Permit #2 Phase #1 TC-COM-0526-00763) covering the foundation and slab design and associated piping to expedite review of the concrete work. Permit #2 Phase 2 will cover the above-grade building/canopy structure, equipment anchorage, and electrical, heating/cooling, and plumbing disciplines.
This submittal is intended to cover the Faribault Foods WWTP Expansion Building Permit #2 Phase #2 Pre-Engineered Metal Building (PEMB) Structure and building systems and utilities design. This includes site civil, demolition, structural anchorage, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing drawings and associated calculations. The Permit #2 Phase #1 submittal covering the structural foundation and slab design for the pre-engineered metal building (PEMB) and equipment canopy and below grade piping was previously submitted under TC-COM-0526-00763. As a one-time adjustment for this permit, Special Inspections Certificate form will be submitted prior to Start of Inspections as a deferred submittal per Justin Eder (see email dated 15 May 2026).
Note the full valuation of the work for this permit was entered as $501,060.00 with the TC-COM-0523-00763 submittal. The valuation of $350,000 entered for this portion of the permit is the estimated portion of the overall $501,060.00 associated with this work.
