04/14/2009 VIOL - FIRE PROTECTION SYSTEMS MPURSLEY Correction Required 901.6 Inspection, testing and maintenance. Fire detection, alarm and extinguishing systems shall be maintained in an operative condition at all times, and shall be replaced or repaired where defective. Section 904.11.7 All deep-fat fryers shall be installed with at least a 16 inch (406 mm) space between the fryer and surface flames of adjacent cooking appliances. Exception: 1. Where a steel or tempered glass baffle plate is installed at a minimum 8 inches (203 mm) in height between the fryer and surface flames of the adjacent cooking appliance, the requirement for a 16 inch space shall not apply. Where the fryer and the surface flames of the adjacent cooking appliance are at different horizontal planes, the minimum height of 8 inches (203 mm) shall be measured from the higher of the two. ____Have hood system checked for proper configuration and tested.
04/14/2009 VIOL - MEANS OF EGRESS MPURSLEY Correction Required 1006.3 Illumination emergency power. The power supply for means of egress illumination shall normally be provided by the premises' electrical supply, in the event of power supply failure, an emergency electrical system shall automatically illuminate… The emergency power system shall provide power for a duration of not less than 90 minutes and shall consist of storage batteries, unit equipment or an on-site generator. The installation of the emergency power system shall be in accordance with Section 2702 of the International Building Code. ____Have or show proof of emergency lighting. 1008.1.8 Door operations. Except as specifically permitted by this section egress doors shall be readily openable from the egress side without the use of a key or special knowledge or effort. _____ Remove the double-key lock and replace with an approved locking device such as, thumb turn lock or panic hardware 1011.5.3 Power source. Exit signs shall be illuminated at all times. To ensure continued illumination for the duration of not less than 90 minutes in case of primary power loss, the sign illumination means shall be connected to an emergency power system provided from storage batteries, unit equipment or an on-site generator.
