Portable fire extinguishers shall be installed in the following locations: 3. In areas where flammable or combustible liquids are stored, used or dispensed. * 5. Where required by the sections indicated in Table 906.1.** TFC 906.2 - General requirements. Portable fire extinguishers shall be selected, installed and maintained in accordance with this section and NFPA 10. (Professional maintenance yearly, manual inspection monthly, affix a tag to the extinguisher with records of these activities.) _____ Have all extinguishers professionally maintained and manually inspected every 30 days thereafter with records of these activities indicated on an affixed tag. TFC 906.3 - Size and distribution. TFC 906.6 - Unobstructed and unobscured. Portable fire extinguishers shall not be obstructed or obscured from view. In rooms or areas in which visual obstruction cannot be completely avoided, means shall be provided to indicate the locations of extinguishers. TFC 906.7 - Hangers and brackets. Hand-held portable fire extinguishers, not housed in cabinets, shall be installed on the hangers or brackets supplied. Hangers or brackets shall be securely anchored to the mounting surface in accordance with the manufacturer's installation instructions. TFC 906.9 - Height above floor. Portable fire extinguishers having a gross weight not exceeding 40 shall be installed so that its top is not more than 5 feet above the floor. Signage for identification and warning such as for the inherent hazard of flammable liquids or smoking shall be provided in accordance with this chapter and Sections 2703.5 and 2703.6. TFC 3403.5.1 - Style. Warning signs shall be of a durable material.
