Provide additional documents as requested by review staff. STRUCTURAL REVIEW COMMENTS: Denied 1. Provide Geotechnical Report for the proposed building per International Building Code 2018, Section 1803.1. 2. Verify the design lateral pressure from the surcharge loads are included in the lateral earth pressure load and design of the foundation wall as indicated in IBC 2018 Section 1610.1 3. The requirements in OSHA 1926.757 for the erection of open web steel joists are to be followed. Where steel joists are used with columns that are not framed in at least two directions with solid web structural steel members, a steel joist shall be field-bolted at the column to provide lateral stability to the column during erection. Where constructability does not allow a steel joist to be installed at the column the joists are to be stabilized on both sides of the column. 4. Except for steel joists that have been pre-assembled into panels, connections of individual steel joists to steel structures in bays 40 feet or more shall be fabricated to allow for field bolting during erection. 5. Provide a vertical stabilizer plate at columns for steel joist as required by OSHA 1926.757. 6. Verify OSHA steel erection standards for open web steel joists. Section 1926.757 (a)(8) requires connections of individual steel joists to steel structures in bays of 40 feet or more shall be fabricated to allow for field bolting during erection. 7. Verify loadings shown on Joist Purlin (JP) Schedule and Joist Girder (JG) Schedule on Drawing S0.3 and the loadings shown on Structural Calculation on sheets 6, 7 and 8 of Structural Calculations submitted. They don’t match, make changes as needed. 8. Structural steel, components and fasteners that are exposed to weather are to be protected against corrosion in accordance with AISC 360 Section B.13 as indicated in IBC 2018 Section 2203.1. 9. Designer is to coordinate venting and drainage hole requirements for HSS tube members that are galvanized using the hot-dip galvanizing process. Provide for plugs as needed. AWS D-19.0 calls for welds on galvanized steel to be free of zinc. Field welds on galvanized parts requires the removal of the zinc coating in the area of weld. Provide zinc paint (approved by the galvanizer) and apply as required to the weld and steel area to provide protection. 10. Show lines of bridging for the steel joists per the recommendation of the Joist Manufacturer. Submit a response letter addressing these correction items and provide bubbles on the revisions to the drawings. BUILDING REVIEW COMMENTS: Denied Construction documents – Permit application project address is “4761” East Los Reales Rd., while structural calculation shows “150”, architectural and structural drawing sheets show “4150”, mechanical/plumbing/electrical sheets show “150” that show discrepancies. Provide accurate address for all construction documents including permit application. What is the project address? Sheet A0.1 – Civil and landscape drawings missing. Sheet A1.1 states to reference civil and landscape drawings but missing in set. Show exterior wall opening dimensions coordinated with sheet S4.1-4.2. Sheet A0.1 – Window schedule, door schedule, wall type schedule, finish schedule and reflected ceiling plans missing from construction document. Provide complete scope of work to clarify. Sheet A0.1a – Include “City of Tucson/Pima County Outdoor Lighting Code” in applicable codes. Sheet A0.5 – What are the provided maximum travel distance to exits? Only maximum distance shown. Show proposed future office area in life safety/egress plan. Sheet A1.0 – Show fire hydrant locations in overall site plan. Show all items on site legend. Sheet A2.2 – Show all door window and door tags in floor plans. For example, exterior double door located at grid 1/E is missing door identifier tag. E4.1 PARTIAL ELECTRICAL POWER - FIRST FLOOR PLAN: Need to provide interior lighting to a minimum level ie stumble lighting, emergency lighting, and exit signage. Need to provide an interior lighting comcheck to show compliance to 2018 IECC code. Need to provide service receptacles within 25 feet of any HVAC equipment or conditioned space. Should provide an additional 4-6 receptacles for a Core and Shell design throughout the building. E4.2 PARTIAL ELECTRICAL POWER - FIRST FLOOR PLAN: See comments on E4.1.
