06/03/2019 | ROBERT SHERRY | MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Reqs Change | 1. Comment not resolved. Provide a detail showing how the spring isolators and all-thread rods are connected to the building structure itself. [Initial comment: Provide structural details to show how the fan coil units are to be connected to the building structure. Reference: Section 302.1, IMC 2018.] 2. The summary of the ventilation calculations does not indicate how the outside air quantities were determined. Show the rest of the calculations for the air handlers serving multiple zones. [Initial comment: Provide calculations to show how adequate ventilation will be provided for the occupied spaces. Reference: Section 401.2, IMC 2018.] 3. Removing the exhaust fans from the prep areas does not eliminate the exhaust requirement. Each prep room has four microwave ovens for a total required exhaust airflow rate of 280 cfm. [Initial comment: Cooking appliances that do not require the installation of a Type II hood (e.g. microwave ovens) shall be exhausted at a flow rate of 0.70 CFM per square foot; each appliance shall be assumed to occupy a space of not less than 100-square feet. Reference: Section 507.3, IMC 2012.] |
06/03/2019 | ROBERT SHERRY | PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Reqs Change | Sheets P2.02.A, P2.02.B and P2.02.C show primary roof drains terminating at the building wall over sidewalks. The development plans call for the primary roof drains to connect top scuppers under the sidewalks. Coordinate the development plans and the plumbing plans. |
06/03/2019 | ROBERT SHERRY | WATER | REVIEW | Reqs Change | 1. Comment not resolved. An approved development plan is not to be used for construction or modification of on-site utilities (e.g. water service to buildings, building sewers, site lighting, electrical service to buildings, etc.). The civil utility drawings are an integral part of the building permit. [Initial comment: The civil utility plan indicates the installation of a 2" water meter to serve the building water demand. Based on the water fixture units shown in Appendix E, IPC 2018, the water demand for the building will be about 137 GPM without considering the continuous demand from hose bibbs, make-up water for mechanical systems, and deionized water production. Tucson Water limits 2" water meters to a maximum demand of 120 GPM. Verify the total water demand for the building (including the demand contribution of non-plumbing uses) and revise the size of the water meter if needed.] 2. Comment not resolved; see comment 1. [Initial comment: The civil utility plan shows a 3" domestic water line terminating at the garbage area with a 1" domestic water line serving the building. Correct the civil plan to coordinate with the plumbing site plan.] |
