The termination room(s) are required to have no less than the same rating as the shafts per 2012 IBC Sec. 713.13 and NFPA 82 Art. 5.2.4.1; currently these rooms are showing a 1-hour rating. Also, the bottom of the chutes must have automatic closing or self-closing doors with a 1-1/2 fire-hour rating per NFPA 82 Art. 5.2.3.1.3.

Sheet M2.2.2: As a general note regarding all the mechanical drawings, it would be beneficial to see all the fire barriers and smoke barriers that are communicated on the architectural plans. There are several dampers missing that likely would have been caught with this information provided on the mechanical plans.
3. Sheet M2.3.1: These are 1-hour fire barriers, therefore fire dampers are required.
4. Sheet M2.3.4: These four ducts penetrate 1-hour fire barriers. There is a mix of fire dampers and fire/smoke dampers; please clarify the arrangement. There are 3 different smoke compartments; should there be 3 fire/smoke dampers and 1 fire damper?
5. Sheet M2.3.4: These 1-hour fire barriers require fire dampers per 2012 IBC Sec. 717.5.2. There are two similar rooms to the north that are done correctly.
6. Sheet M2.4.1: Several duct sizes appear to be missing in this area of the plan; associated with AHU "H". Please clarify.
