| 09/09/2016 | DAN SANTA CRUZ | ELECTRICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Reqs Change | Please address the following electrical plan review comment. Also provide a written response. As per the last electrical plan review comment #3; "REF: PLAN SHEET E8.4.0, ENLARGED ELECTRIC ROOM DETAILS #1 AND #2 SHOW EGRESS DOOR SWING INWARD AT COLUMNS N-7 (NORMAL ELECTRIC ROOM). AND THE UPS ROOM. THIS WOULD BE IN VIOLATION OF NEC ART. 110.26C2." The subject was in reference to the doors swinging inward. There was a typo referencing the Code article. It should have been 110.26C3 not 110.26C2. However, the doors still need to open in the direction of egress to meet code. 2011 NEC art. 110.26 C3. Rooms with electrical equipment rated at 1200 amps or more. ( PERSONAL 3DOORS ) within 25' of the nearest edge of the working space, shall open in the direction of egress and be equipped with panic bars, pressure plates, or other devices that are normally latched but open under simple pressure. |
| 09/14/2016 | ROBERT SHERRY | PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Reqs Change | 1. Slopes (or pipe sizes) will need to be revised on sheets P3.1.2, P3.4.4, P3.5.2, P3.9.5, and P3.9.6. [Initial comment: Verify the slope of the horizontal storm conductors. A 2% slope is identified only for one horizontal conductor located on the 1st level near column G.5-11.4; if the rest can be assumed to be at a 1% slope, some of the conductors may have to be re-sized. Reference: Table 1106.3, IPC 2012.] 2. Correct the labels for the vacuum piping on sheet MG7.0.1. revise the note requiring 20 PSI non-medical air to be delivered by the 15 PSI non-medical air piping. Revise the label for the 15 PSI non-medical air so that the "15 PSI" portion of the label is located on the correct pipe. [Initial comment: Use the pipe labels identified on sheet MG0.0.1 consistently.] |
| 09/14/2016 | ERIC NEWCOMB | BUILDING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Reqs Change | 1. PREVIOUS COMMENT 11; SHEETS G2.1 AND G2.2; ACCESSIBILITY: IN ADDITION TO THE 2012 IBC AND THE 2009 ICC/ANSI, NOTE 'A' STILL INDICATES THE PROJECT WILL BE COMPLIANT WITH THE ADAAG AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT ACCESSIBILITY GUIDELINES. PLEASE REMOVE THE ADAAG REFERENCE. 2. PREVIOUS COMMENT 21; SHEETS G3.1 THROUGH G3.8; U.L. ASSEMBLIES AND NOTES: WHEN DRAWINGS ARE ARCHIVED, LETTERING WITH A HEIGHT LESS THAN 3/32" MANY TIMES IS NOT LEGIBLE. PLEASE REVISE ALL LETTERING (UPPER AND LOWER CASE) TO A MINIMUM OF 3/32" IN HEIGHT. 3. PREVIOUS COMMENT 23; SHEETS AD2.1.0 THROUGH AD2.1.1: A NORTH ARROW WAS NOT ADDED TO SHEET AD2.1.1. PLEASE REVISE. 4. PREVIOUS COMMENT 24; SHEET AD2.1.1; PLANS 1 AND 3: THE HEXAGONAL GRIDS HAVE NOT BEEN REPLACED ON THESE PLANS. PLEASE REVISE. 5. PREVIOUS COMMENT 61; SHEETS A2.4.1 AND A2.4.1d; PLANS: THERE ARE STILL CLOUDED PORTIONS ON THESE PLANS THAT HAVE NOT BEEN REMOVED. PLEASE REVISE. 6. SHEETS A2.4.2 THROUGH A2.10.6; PLANS: THERE ARE CLOUDED PORTIONS ON THESE PLANS THAT SHOULD BE REMOVED. PLEASE REVISE. 7. GENERAL: PLEASE PROVIDE WRITTEN RESPONSES TO ALL REVIEW COMMENTS. |
| 09/15/2016 | ROBERT SHERRY | MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Reqs Change | 1. Revise the airflow summary tables for the air handling units to include the heating/cooling load results (in BTUH) for each room. [Initial comment: Provide heating and cooling load calculations that justify the capacities of the heating and cooling equipment specified for the project. Reference: Sections C403.2.1 and C403.2.2, IECC 2012, and Section 312.1, IMC 2012.] 2. Provide a copy of a bid report showing the proposed U-factors and solar heat gain coefficients for the site-assembled fenestration products. The NFRC component modeling approach program enables commercial window manufacturers to produce bid reports to prove energy performance prior to being awarded a job and provide finalized NFRC label certificates once the product has been installed. Fenestration performance reports based on AAMA 507 are based on energy simulations only (no actual testing) and are not acceptable. [Initial comment: Provide energy code compliance calculations for the building envelope; use the climate zone for Tucson. Provide sufficient detail on the drawings to evaluate the energy compliance of the building envelope. The information shall, as a minimum, include U-factors of the envelope systems and fenestration components, along with the R-values of the insulation and the SHGC for the fenestration. Reference: Sections C103.2 and C401.2, International Energy Conservation Code 2012.] |
