This letter reflects comments to be addressed. PLEASE send all response to comments back to the City through the permit portal! Responses sent directly to Stantec will be ignored. Also, please submit complete copies of all permit documents (i.e. plans, calculations, reports, etc.) even if they have not been changed. Please cloud and delta all changes and provide a letter with a written response to each of the comments indicating the action taken. The scope of this review covers the architectural, structural, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical designs as they relate to the codes adopted by the jurisdiction. All features were checked only to the extent allowed by the submittals provided. All portions of this project are assumed to meet or will meet other departmental requirements, conditions, and concerns before permit approval. Special Inspections: None. ARCHITECTURAL COMMENTS General 1. Please provide proof that this project has been submitted to the Pima County Health Department for permitting. Make sure to incorporate any of their comments into any future submittals. 2. Please indicate that the automatic fire sprinkler system [2018 IBC Sec. 903], fire alarm system [2018 IBC Sec. 907], and kitchen hood suppression system [2018 IBC Sec. 904.12] are to be provided as part of this project and are to be submitted as a separate permit (not a deferred submittal). 3. The plan-set indicates the installation of new mechanical units on the roof ranging from 450lbs – 850lbs. These units appear to be in different areas of the roof than the original units. Please provide an engineering analysis that indicates the proposed units can be placed at the locations indicated without additional reinforcement. Additionally, the proposed type 1 hood indicates a hanging weight of 559lbs. Please provide a structural analysis that the existing roof can support the hood and a design to accompany. [Ref. IBC 2018 Sec. 1604.4] {This comment is also included in the ‘Structural Comments’ section.} 4. The plan-set contains conflicting information. Detail 8 of sheet M2.0 of the mechanical plans indicates a fire-rated shaft per the architectural design for the kitchen hood exhaust, but the architectural plan does not contain details for the fire-rated shaft. Please coordinate and clarify. Sheet A5.0 1. Please indicate a minimum of 5% but not less than one of the dining surfaces for the seating and standing spaces in the dining area as being accessible. [Ref. IBC 2018 Sec. 1108.2.9.1] 2. Please indicate the required 5’ diameter turning space in the unisex bathrooms. [Ref. ICC ANSI A117-2009 Sec. 603.2.1] STRUCTURAL COMMENTS General 1.
