12/22/2023 | External Reviewers - SAFEBuilt | REQUIRES RESUBMIT | Structural(S) Reviewer Madeline Nelson mnelson@safebuilt.com Denied Reason: Date Completed : 12/21/2023 4:34:25 PM The following comments address only the items that have been altered as part of Revision #3. Items previously approved on June 14, 2022 were not reviewed. 1. S2.2 - MISSING INFORMATION: On the Level 2 PT Plan - Area A, please provide a callout to identify the steel beam indicated on Grid A between Grids 4 & 5. 2. S3.7 - CONFIRM DESIGN: With the most recent revision, the columns located at Grids P/15 and P/16 have been adjusted to terminate at Level 2. These columns previously appeared to extend above to support the concrete beams "CB18" shown on the Level 3 Layout Plan, S3.7, Grids 16 & 17. Please confirm that these beams are designed to span approximately 60'-0" and no additional supports are required below the pool. 3. S9.2 - PT BEAM DESIGN: At the Roof Level, there is a PT beam located on Grid 1 that is isolated from the rest of the slab by an opening for the stairwell. The PT tendons in the beam apply a precompression force of approximately 1000 psi. Please confirm that the beam has been reinforced to resist bursting and that shrinkage of the beam has been considered when designing slab reinforcement at either end. 4. S11.3 - CONFLICTING INFORMATION: The Framing Details on Sheet S11.3 pose conflicting information at the following location. Detail 8 calls for a 1/4" plate to support a diagonal kicker, while Detail 10 calls for a 3/8"x6"x6" plate and partial stiffener (dimensions not specified). Please confirm which note controls and resubmit, proving additional information on the partial stiffener plate as required. 5. S11.5 - CONFIRM DESIGN: Detail 3/S11.5 is cut at approximately Grid A/2.4 on multiple floors (refer to S5.1, S6.1, S7.1 and S8.1). The detail includes gridlines that indicate a different location. Please confirm where this detail applies. 6. S12.2/S20.0 - CONFIRM DESIGN: Partial Elevation 2/S12.2 includes a section cut for Detail 3/S20.0 through the CMU header. Detail 3/S20.0 illustrates a cantilevered support for PVC tube. Please confirm that this is the correct detail and provide a maximum spacing and cantilevered length of the HSS4x4 specified, as the outriggers do not appear in the elevation. 7. S14.1 - MISSING INFORMATION: Detail 3/S14.1 includes placeholder callouts for the CFS wall stud and tracks. Please provide final design or revise the callouts to refer to a more complete detail. 8. S14.2 - CONFIRM DESIGN: At new Detail 20/S14.2, please confirm that no additional reinforcement is required at the proposed thickened concrete element below the prefabricated steel stair stringer. 9. S17.2 - CONFIRM DESIGN: In new Detail 20/S17.2, no dowels or clips are called out at the interface of the PT slab and the composite concrete floor. This has the potential to cause a tripping hazard if the two slabs deflect incongruently. Please confirm that it is the engineer's intent for the slabs to move independently and no dowels are required. 10. S19.1 - MISSING DETAIL CALLOUT: Please indicate where Detail 7/S19.1 has been cut on plan. Reviewer was unable to confirm the HSS girt size, called out "per plan" in the detail. 11. S22.0 - CONFIRM DESIGN: Details 11 and 13/S22.0 illustrate an anchorage connection for an 11-cable barrier system restrained by a shear wall. Cables are shown on either the left or right side of the wall, as dictated by the architect. However, for cases like Level 1 Area A, (Sheet S1.1) at Grid 6/D, both details are called out, as two cable barriers are required at a split ramp. Please confirm that the anchors called out in these details are capable or resisting tensions from two 11-cable barrier walls.
