In Violation |
Arrived on scene at 742 PM and TFD had already left the scene. Contractor was cutting out flooring in Unit 934 when pieces of wood struck the fire sprinkler water supply line and ruptured the pipe. This caused the ceiling of Unit 924 to collapse and the unit was flooded, and there is approximately more than an inch of standing water in the unit. Kitchen light fixture collapsed, wiring in ceiling wet. There is a second light fixture to the pantry that is also likely wet. Drywall is wet in the kitchen soffit. Light switch box in bedroom across from kitchen has water in it. Checked switch outside bathroom, inside bathroom, and GFCI in bathroom abutting the kitchen and none had water in them. The electrical panel does not have any apparent water in it and breakers appear dry. It is unclear if wiring behind walls have come in contact with water. Drywall is wet throughout the unit. Kustom Restoration arrived on scene and began extracting water. Aforementioned light switch shall be replaced. A licensed electrician shall review the electrical system of the entire unit. Power was isolated to unit at main disconnect and locked off by property management. Unit has been condemned due to electrical. Permits required for repairs. -VM |
