06/23/2008 VIOL - FIRE SERVICE FEATURES JLONGO Correction Required 506.1 Where required. Where access to or within a structure or an area is restricted because of secured openings or where immediate access is necessary for life-saving or fire-fighting purposes, the fire code official is authorized to require a key box to be installed in an approved location. The key box shall be of an approved type and shall contain keys to gain necessary access as required by the fire code official. _____ A knox box shall be required and will need to be installed in order to gain access to the building and its fire fighting features. The proper paper work shall be given and the ordering process shall begin immediatly. 510.1 Identification Fire protection equipment shall be identified in an approved manner. Rooms containing controls for air conditioning, sprinkler risers and valves, or other fire detection, suppression, or control elements shall be identified for use of the fire department. Approved signs required to identify fire protection equipment and equipment location, shall be constructed of durable materials, permanently installed and readily visible. _____ Place the wording "RISER ROOM" on riser room door to properly identify the fire service features location.

The required fire-resistance rating of fire-resistance-rated construction (including walls, firestops, shaft enclosures, partitions, smoke barriers, floors, fire-resistive coatings and sprayed fire-resistant materials applied to structural members and fire-resistant joint systems) shall be maintained. Such elements shall be properly repaired, restored or replaced when damaged, altered, breached or penetrated. Openings made therein for the passage of pipes, electrical conduit, wires, ducts, air transfer openings and holes made for any reason shall be protected with approved methods capable of resisting the passage of smoke and fire _____ the missing ceiling vent in the kitchen shall be replaced
06/23/2008 VIOL - FIRE PROTECTION SYSTEMS JLONGO Correction Required 904.11.6.3 Cleaning. Hoods, grease-removal devices, fans, ducts and other appurtenances shall be cleaned at intervals necessary to prevent the accumulation of grease. Cleanings shall be recorded, and records shall state the extent, time and date of cleaning. Such records shall be maintained on the premises. *** Provide the proper documentation of a regular scheduled cleaning of the hood system as they are required to be done quarterly 906.6 Unobstructed and unobscured. Portable fire extinguishers shall not be obstructed or obscured from view. In rooms or areas in which visual obstruction cannot be completely avoided, means shall be provided to indicate the locations of extinguishers. _____ remove any item(s) that obstruct or obscure the fire exstinguisher located in the main lobby. or place the exstinguisher in a new location where it can be seen easily.
06/23/2008 VIOL - MEANS OF EGRESS JLONGO Correction Required 1027.5 Illumination emergency power. The power supply for means of egress illumination shall normally be provided by the premises' electrical supply. In the event of power supply failure, illumination shall be automatically provided from an emergency system for the following occupancies where such occupancies require two or more means of egress: all Emergency lighting shall be functional and properly maintained in conjunction with IFC section 1027. _____ Repair/fix the broken emergancy lighting unit located in the south east corner 1008.1.8 Door operations. Except as specifically permitted by this section egress doors shall be readily openable from the egress side without the use of a key or special knowledge or effort. 1008.1.8.5 Unlatching. The unlatching of any door or leaf shall not require more than one operation. _____ The double key locks located in the main lobby othere then the main entrance door shall either be replaced with a thumb turn lock or a panich hardware system. _____ The pad lock on the rear egress gate shall not be used. A key lock is only allowed on the main entrance door. and no other locking device shall ever be applied when a panic hardware system exists. _____ The enclosed security gate system that is in place in the back of the building shall be disabled or removed. A single manual locking device can be be put in place of the magnet lock I.E. Thumb turn bolt, Panic hardware with a protective plate to ensure no entry from the outside can occure. The current system has been deemed unsafe and does not meet the minimum code standards. ________________________________________________ (Joseph P.
