Cords shall not be affixed to structures, extended through walls, ceilings or floors, or under doors or floor coverings, nor shall such cords be subject to environmental damage or physical impact. Fire detection, alarm and extinguishing systems shall be maintained in an operative condition at all times, and shall be replaced or repaired where defective. 906.7 Hangers and brackets. 06/18/2008 VIOL - FLAMMABLE FINISHES JLONGO Correction Required 1503.2.6 Smoking prohibited. Smoking shall be prohibited in flammable vapor areas and hazardous materials storage rooms associated with flammable finish processes. "No Smoking" signs complying with Section 310 shall be conspicuously posted in such areas. 310.3 "No Smoking" signs. The fire code official is authorized to order the posting of "No Smoking" signs in a conspicuous location in each structure or location in which smoking is prohibited. The content, lettering, size, color and location of required "No Smoking" signs shall be approved. _____ Approved "NO SMOKING" signs shall be placed in the main building and in the spray booth area. 1504.4 Fire protection. Spray booths and spray rooms shall be protected by an approved automatic fire extinguishing system complying with Chapter 9. Protection shall also extend to exhaust plenums, exhaust ducts and both sides of dry filters when such filters are used. 1504.4.1 Fire extinguishers. 06/18/2008 VIOL - FLAMMABLE LIQUIDS JLONGO Correction Required 3404.4.2.4 Storage adjacent to buildings. A maximum of 1,100 gallons (4163 L) of liquids stored in closed containers and portable tanks is allowed adjacent to a building located on the same premises and under the same management, provided that: 1. The building does not exceed one story in height. Such building shall be of fire-resistance-rated construction with noncombustible exterior surfaces or noncombustible construction and shall be used principally for the storage of liquids; or 2. The exterior building wall adjacent to the storage area shall have a fire-resistance rating of not less than 2 hours, having no openings to above-grade areas within 10 feet (3048 mm) horizontally of such storage and no openings to below-grade areas within 50 feet (15 240 mm) horizontally of such storage. 3404.4.4 Security. Storage areas shall be protected against tampering or trespassers by fencing or other approved control measures. 3404.4.6 Clearance from combustibles. The storage area shall be kept free from weeds, debris and combustible materials not necessary to the storage. The area surrounding an exterior storage area shall be kept clear of such materials for a minimum distance of 15 feet (4572 mm). _____ You are over the maximum allowed 30 gallons permitted for your oil based paint. You must remove, dipose, and/or place your excess piant in seperate room according to the codes stated above. *** There is no limitation on storage for water-based paint *** If a storage room is choosen, then proper security and clearance from combustibles shall be followed.
