03/21/2007 INSP - FULL EGRIFFIN Violation On 3-20-07, a fire prevention inspection was conducted at 1420 N Vine in Tucson, Arizona. The following Tucson Fire Code Violation(s) was noted: 1). Full fire sprinkler and inspection report shall be submitted to TFD with all repairs shall be completed. IFC 901.6 2). Fire alarm shall be tested with all repairs completed IFC 9-01.6 3). Currently the kitchen hood automatic fire extinguishing system has been placed out of service and there is evidence of cooking being conducted. This hood kitchen hood automatic fire extinguishing system is required to operational under IFC 904.11 which states 904.11 Commercial cooking systems. The automatic fire-extinguishing system for commercial cooking systems shall be of a type recognized for protection of commercial cooking equipment and exhaust systems of the type and arrangement protected. Preengineered automatic dry- and wet-chemical extinguishing systems shall be tested in accordance with UL 300 and listed and labeled for the intended application. Other types of automatic fire-extinguishing systems shall be listed and labeled for specific use as protection for commercial cooking operations. The system shall be installed in accordance with this code, its listing and the manufacturer's installation instructions. Automatic fire-extinguishing systems of the following types shall be installed in accordance with the referenced standard indicated, as follows: 1. Carbon dioxide extinguishing systems, NFPA 12. 2. Automatic sprinkler systems, NFPA 13. 3. Foam-water sprinkler system or foam-water spray systems, NFPA 16. 4. Dry-chemical extinguishing systems, NFPA 17. One the above systems must be in operation to be able to continue cooking. Failure to provide one of the above systems shall result in full to be turned off the cooking appliance with pout further notice. 4). Currently no exhaust/ventilation and make up air system is provided. This shall be referred to City of Tucson Mechanical Inspector. IFC 904.11.6 5). Remove sofa from under stairs. IFC 315.2.4 6). Repair hole in wall with shame rated material IFC 703 7). Repair door in air exchange room. IFC 703.1 9) All rooms shall be inspected for smoke detectors on 4-6-07. IFC
04/11/2007 INSP - REINSPECTION EGRIFFIN Violation On 3-20-07, a fire prevention inspection was conducted at 1420 N Vine in Tucson, Arizona. On 4-10-07, a reinspection was conducted at 1420 N Vine, and the following was still not completed. The following Tucson Fire Code Violation(s) were still noted: 1). Full fire sprinkler and inspection report shall be submitted to TFD with all repairs shall be completed. IFC 901.6 On 4-10-07, no report was furnished. 2). Fire alarm shall be tested with all repairs completed IFC 9-01.6 On 4-10-07, repairs were not completed and fire alarm was still out of service. 3). Currently the kitchen hood automatic fire extinguishing system has been placed out of service and there is evidence of cooking being conducted. This hood kitchen hood automatic fire extinguishing system is required to operational. On 4-14-07, a discussion was held with Mr. Williams, and it was understood that this job had been accepted by contractor and work was soon to begin. This must be completed by 4-24-07, noon, or gas to appliance shall be turned off. 4). Currently no exhaust/ventilation and make up air system is provided. This shall be referred to City of Tucson Mechanical Inspector. IFC 904.11.6 5). Repair door in air exchange room. IFC 703.1 Currently door is not repaired 6) All rooms shall be inspected for smoke detectors on Noon on 4-24-07. IFC 907.3 7). Clean hood vent system above stove. Currently grease is dripping from vent. IFC 904.11.6.3 This letter is to inform you that abatement of these Tucson Fire Code violations must be completed by 4-25-07 at noon hour . A re-inspection shall be conducted at that time to ensure compliance. Failure to comply with all of the above may result in referral to The City of Tucson Prosecutors office for possible litigation.
