03/21/2007 INSP - FULL Violation On 3-20-07, a fire prevention inspection was conducted at 1420 N Vine
in Tucson, Arizona.

The following Tucson Fire Code Violation(s) was noted:

1). Full fire sprinkler and inspection report shall be submitted to TFD with all repairs shall be completed. IFC 901.6
2). Fire alarm shall be tested with all repairs completed IFC 9-01.6
3). Currently the kitchen hood automatic fire extinguishing system has been placed out of service and there is evidence of cooking being conducted. This hood kitchen hood automatic fire extinguishing system is required to operational under IFC 904.11 which states

904.11 Commercial cooking systems. The automatic fire-extinguishing
system for commercial cooking systems shall be of a type recognized for protection of commercial cooking equipment and exhaust systems of the type and arrangement protected.
Preengineered automatic dry- and wet-chemical
extinguishing systems shall be tested in accordance with UL
300 and listed and labeled for the intended application. Other
types of automatic fire-extinguishing systems shall be listed
and labeled for specific use as protection for commercial cooking
operations. The system shall be installed in accordance
with this code, its listing and the manufacturer's installation instructions.
Automatic fire-extinguishing systems of the following
types shall be installed in accordance with the referenced
standard indicated, as follows:
1. Carbon dioxide extinguishing systems, NFPA 12.
2. Automatic sprinkler systems, NFPA 13.
3. Foam-water sprinkler system or foam-water spray systems,
NFPA 16.
4. Dry-chemical extinguishing systems, NFPA 17.

One the above systems must be in operation to be able to continue cooking. Failure to provide one of the above systems shall result in full to be turned off the cooking appliance with pout further notice.


4). Currently no exhaust/ventilation and make up air system is provided. This shall be referred to City of Tucson Mechanical Inspector. IFC 904.11.6
