| 02/14/2007 | VIOL - PRECAUTION AGAINST FIRE | WCUMMING | Correction Required | 315.2.3 Equipment rooms. Combustible material shall not be stored in boiler rooms, mechanical rooms or electrical equipment rooms. 305.1 Clearance from ignition sources. Clearance between ignition sources, such as light fixtures, heaters and flame-producing devices, and combustible materials shall be maintained in an approved manner. Gasoline containers were being stored in the 400 building mechanical room and propane cylinders were being stored in the MPR building mechanical room. This is a very dangerous situation as both these areas have or may have open flames or sparks at any time. These conditions were brought to the attention of the School Principal immediately. |
| 02/14/2007 | VIOL - BUILDING SVCS & SYSTEMS | WCUMMING | Correction Required | 605.3 Working space and clearance. A working space of not less than 30 inches (762 mm) in width, 36 inches (914 mm) in depth and 78 inches (1981 mm) in height shall be provided in front of electrical service equipment. Where the electrical service equipment is wider than 30 inches (762 mm), the working space shall not be less than the width of the equipment. No storage of any materials shall be located within the designated working space. It was noted that in several areas, large electrical transformers had combustible storage either on or near the equipment. This equipment produces heat and requires ventilation around it. |
