10/19/2022 | DAN SANTA CRUZ | ELECTRICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Reqs Change | Please address the electrical plan review comments and provide a written response. The previous electrical plan review comments are not completely addressed to provide clear definite compliance with the following comment. As requested per the previous electrical plan review comment # 4. “Provide evidence on the electrical plans that the Rapid Shutdown function meets the requirements of NEC art 690 12 (B)(1)(2)(3)(4), boundaries around modules and maximum voltage requirements”. NEC art 690.12(A) and (B) has requirements for boundaries around the roof mounted Array(s) concerning controlled conductors and maximum voltages after the Rapid Shutdown is initiated, 30 volts outside the boundary and 80volts inside the boundary. The response to this was “Please see MCI WIRING DETAIL”, SOLAR SHUTDOWN DEVICE, and PV HAZARD CONTROL SYSTEM” cutsheets to see details. The MCI WIRING DETAIL (General Notes) state that after Rapid Shutdown occurs limits voltage on the roof on the roof to no greater than 165 volts. This does not comply with the 30 volt limit per NEC 690.12. Please clarify. Ref; 2018 IBC sec 107.1,107.2.1, 2017 NEC, City of Tucson Commercial Plan Submittal Requirements. |
