Provide additional documents as requested by review staff. STRUCTURAL REVIEW COMMENTS: Denied 1. Provide the structural design information on each sheet on the plans that follows the 2018 IRC table R301.2(1) as amended. Include the proposed live and dead loads for the structure and any required wall bracing. 2. Indicate corner bracing and provide a detail that is in accordance with R602.10. 3. Indicate the slope of the garage roof on the plans. 4. Provide structural calculations for the new roof beams and glulam beams on the drawings. 5. Provide a detail on how the new wood construction is to be attached to the existing brick. BUILDING REVIEW COMMENTS: Denied 1. Note on the drawings that all work shall follow the adopted codes of the City of Tucson. 2. Provide sheet numbers or other general titles for the individual pages on the drawings. 3. Update the title for the garage roof isometric that indicates it is for the studio. 4. Indicate a stoop outside of the garage person door and studio entry or indicate that there is an existing hard surface. 2018 IRC R311.3. 5. Provide notes or a detail for the roof materials for both structures, only wood board with roofing felt is indicated. 6. Provide wall details or notes that indicate the exterior wall sheathing, bracing and stucco details. Indicate any insulation or interior wall board to be installed if applicable. 7. Update the plans to indicate if the new studio will be conditioned space. If so, indicate the insulation and interior finishes on the plans. Clarify if the openings indicated in the elevations are windows or just openings. 8. If the new studio is to be a conditioned space with windows, note on the drawings that the windows shall have a minimum U factor of .40 and a SHGC of .25 per the 2018 International Energy Conservation Code Table R402.1.2. 9. The structural sheet that was scanned in separately is difficult to read. Rescan the document so that all work and notes are clear for review. Provide additional information on the new sliding glass door including the U factor and SHGC as noted above for the windows per the 2018 International Energy Conservation Code Table R402.1.2. MECHANICAL REVIEW COMMENTS: Denied 1. Indicate if the new garage or studio will have any air conditioning or heating installed in the space. ELECTRICAL REVIEW COMMENTS Denied 1. Provide electrical plans for both the garage and the studio. If there is existing electrical to remain, note the locations on the plans. 2. Provide an exterior light outside of the person door for the garage and studio or indicate an existing light at these locations. 2017 NEC 210.70. 3. Provide a plan for the new sliding window that indicates the relocation of any existing outlets, switching or lighting. Indicate the location of exterior lighting and switching location for the room that coordinates with the new sliding door.
