12/08/2021 | ROBERT SHERRY | PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Reqs Change | 1. Comment not resolved; a new water heater does not ensure that the water temperature will be maintained for fixtures over 50-feet from the water heater. [Initial comment: The new developed length of the hot water supply piping appears to be greater than fifty feet; provide a method for maintaining the temperature of the hot water supply system. Reference: Section 607.2, IPC 2018 and C404.5, IECC 2018.] 2. Comment not addressed. (Note that the plumbing schematic and the plumbing plan show two different installations.) [Initial comment: Provide a cleanout for the new 3-inch horizontal drain serving the new hand sink and floor drain; the cleanouts shall be sized per Section 708.1.7, IPC 2018 and shall open to allow cleaning in the direction of flow. Reference: Sections 708.1.1 and 708.1.8, IPC 2018.] 3. Clarify which grease interceptor is to be installed. The GB-50 is produced by the Schier Products Company, not by Watts. The Watts GP-50 is also a listed grease interceptor, but it does not comply with the specifications noted in keynote #6 on sheet P1. [Initial comment: Verify if an existing grease interceptor is currently in place to prevent the discharge of fats, oil, and grease into the public sewer. If a grease interceptor is not in place, show how the public sewer is to be protected from harmful discharges. Reference: Section 1003.1, IPC 2018.] 4. The revised layout of the building drains appears to show the drains from the existing restrooms discharging through the proposed grease interceptor. Restroom fixtures shall not discharge through a grease interceptor. Reference: Section 1003.2, IPC 2018. 5. Provide a vent downstream of the gravity grease separator to protect the seal for the grease separator. Reference: Section 1003.3, IPC 2018, as amended by the City of Tucson. |
