Page 1 (Site Plan); Page 8 (South Elevation): Per a Code Interpretation by the Building Official on 4-17-2014, a Group U structure can be erected without any fire resistive rating if the vertical structural supports have a fire separation distance of at least 5' and the roof projection has a fire separation distance of at least 2' from an existing structure or property line. Please indicate on the Site Plan and on the South Elevation that those clearances are met for the new solar structure to the existing building. If those clearance requirements can not be met, the requirements of the IBC Section 508.2.3 for Accessory Occupancy Allowable Building Area must be met and indicated on the drawings.
2. Page 1; Code: Please remove the 2018 IRC.
3. Page 6: Please indicate the material strengths and specifications for the C-Channel purlins, structural steel beams and columns, concrete, and the TEK screws on the drawings.
4. Page 6; Plan Layout; Section A: The Plan and Section indicate the roof beams to be 3"x3"x1/4 Gauge. Please revise the 1/4 Gauge to 1/4".

1. As this is a commercial site a Development Package (DP), commercial site plan, is required to be submitted and approved prior to approval of the building plans. At a minimum the DP must meet the requirements of the Checklist for Minor Development Changes to Existing Commercial/Industrial Sites found at: https://www.tucsonaz.gov/files/pdsd/forms/Minor_Changes_to_Commercial_Industrial_Sites_.pdf.
The DP is a separate submittal from the building plans and must be submitted at: https://docs.tucsonaz.gov/Forms/tucsonpermitapp.
