05/26/2021 | ROBERT SHERRY | PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Reqs Change | 1. The comment response letter states that a 1-1/2” meter serves the commercial suites but the water pressure calculations call out an existing 2-1/2” meter. [Initial comment: Clarify the location and size of the Tucson Water meter serving the total fixture units noted in the water calculations on sheet P1.0. Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2018.] 2. Provide structural calculations to show that the wall is capable of supporting the 50-gallon water heater. [Initial comment: Provide a design for the mounting shelf for the water heater along with structural calculations to show that the water heater is safely supported. Reference: Section 301.2, IPC 2018.] 3. There are four issues with the grease interceptor installation. First, a 2-way cleanout is only allowed at the junction of a building drain and a building sewer. Second, the vented flow control requires access; show how this will be accomplished. Third, vents shall rise to at least 6” above the flood rim of the fixture they protect (in this case, floor level) prior to running horizontally. And, fourth, a vent is required downstream of the grease interceptor. Reference: Sections 708.1.8, 905.4, 1003.9, and 1003.10, IPC 2018. [Initial comment: Show the grease interceptor installed correctly and in a manner consistent with the Code and the manufacturer’s instructions. Reference: Section 303.2, IPC 2018.] |
