Provide additional documents as requested by review staff. STRUCTURAL REVIEW COMMENTS: Approved BUILDING REVIEW COMMENTS: Approved MECHANICAL REVIEW COMMENTS: Denied Comment Mechanical 3: “Not compiled, recirculating hood is not acceptable and must have exhaust to the outdoors per Chapter 4, ‘Not Compiled,’ there is no radiation damper tested and listed for kitchen exhaust applications.” Response: IMC 506.3.11 prohibits fire dampers from being installed in grease duct. Grease duct is only required at Type I hoods, which we do not have. Domestic kitchen exhaust ducts are covered in IMC 505.3, and there are no adiation damper restrictions in this section of code. Not Complied this code section you have stated is a misapplication of the code. It does not apply to residential kitchens, it applies to commercial kitchen applications. Comment Mechanical 8: “A corridor damper shall be installed in corridor ceiling enclosure on all floors on Sheet M101 (IMC2018,607.5.4).” Response: Plans have been updated to reflect this. Not Complied your updated plans does not clarify corridor dampers at the ceiling diffusers. you have a number 6 next to cd but in keynote does not describe what the note 6 is next to the diffusers Comment Mechanical 8: “Provide duct smoke detector for FCU-1 and 4, they both share common duct. The outside air louver on Sheet M201 (IMC2018,606.2.2).” Response: Plans have been updated to reflect this. Note that smoke detectors are shown in FCUs-1, -2, and -3 as these are the units with a common outside air louver. FCU-4 has not been provided with a smoke detector as it shares no ductwork with other FCUs. Complied. that is correct Comment Mechanical 8: “Provide corridor dampers where ducts penetrate corridor ceiling enclosure throughout on first floor on Sheet M201 (IMC2018,607.5.4).” Response: Plans have been updated to reflect this. Note that some of the ductwork and diffusers shown on M201 are below the rated floor/ceiling assembly. These are not provided with radiation or corridor dampers. Understood but you need to note that information on the sheets that the ceiling fire rated assembly is not penetrated in the corridors and provide a note for the corridor dampers required when penetrated you have not done that, it needs to be clear, therefore until corrected it is Not Complied Comment Mechanical 8: “Elevator machine rooms, machinery spaces that contain the driving machine, and control rooms or spaces that contain the operation or motion controller for elevator operation shall be provided with an independent ventilation or air conditioning system to protect against the overheating of the electrical equipment. Show where you are providing this (IBC2018,005.2).” Response: RTU-3 and -4 are ducted into the elevator shafts to protect against overheating; see Sheet M121. Not Complied mechanical systems are not allowed in elevator shafts (IMC2018,303.8) ELECTRICAL REVIEW COMMENTS Approved PLUMBING REVIEW COMMENTS: Approved |
