| 01/06/2020 | ERIC NEWCOMB | BUILDING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Reqs Change | T19CM09337 1. Sheet G-001; Plumbing Fixtures Table: Per the IBC Table 2902.1, please add the service sink requirement to the Plumbing Fixtures Table. 2. Sheet G-001; Building Code Analysis: The required egress width calculation uses 79 occupants rather than the 84 occupants listed. Please verify. 3. Sheet G-001; Occupant Load Calculation; Panda Express Summary: The occupant load calculation indicates 74 occupants for the building interior and 10 occupants for the outdoor dining, while the Panda Express Summary indicates 68 indoor seating and 16 outdoor seating. Please coordinate. 4. Sheet A-105; Reflected Ceiling Plan: A canopy is indicated on exterior walls with a note that it is to be provided by the general contractor. Is a dimension for the various canopy sizes provided on any plan, detail, or note? Please verify. 5. Sheet A-107; Roof Plan Keynotes: Note R1 was not located on the plan. Please verify. 6. Sheet A-109; Furniture Plan: The outdoor dining area is not indicated on this plan. Please provide that plan along with the seating layout. 7. Sheet A-200 (North Elevation); Sheet A-303 (Section 2): It appears the canopy is not indicated on Section 2/A-303 as indicated on the elevation. Please verify. 8. Sheet A-201 (East and West Elevations); Sheet A-400: A Detail 10/A-400 is cut on the elevations. Please revise the detail call-out, or add that detail to Sheet A-400. 9. Sheet A-302; Sections 2 and 3: Please complete the detail reference at the window sills. 10. Sheet A-302; Section 2: A wall detail at the canopy indicates 06/A-400. Should this be marked as SIM? Please verify. 11. Sheet A-402; Detail 2: A note indicates low wall construction by contractor. The construction of this wall must be shown on the drawings for inspection purposes. Please provide that information on the detail. 12. Sheet S-101; Roof Diaphragm Detail 2: Note 2 indicates to reference the plan for the roof nailing size and spacing. Please revise that note (nailing is called out on Detail 2). 13. Sheet S-101; Roof Framing Plan: A note on the west wall (near Section cut 13/S-300) indicates 6x6 blocking per Section 19/S-300. Section 19/S-300 references Section 9/S-300, which references 2/S-300. Section 2/S-300 does indicate 4x6 blocking, but 6x6 blocking is not referenced on any of these sections. Please verify. 14. General: Please provide the Special Inspection Certificate with Parts A and B completed. This form may be found on the City of Tucson website (www.tucsonaz.gov/PDSD). 15. General: Please provide written responses to all review comments. Review by Eric Newcomb (Eric.Newcomb@tucsonaz.gov) |
| 01/16/2020 | ROBERT SHERRY | PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Reqs Change | 1. The design of the water heater piping (detail 5/P-400), with a shutoff valve located between the water heater and the expansion tank, makes it impossible for the expansion tank to accommodate the thermal expansion of the water in the water heater, as intended by Section 607.3, IPC 2018. Reference: Section 303.2, IPC 2018. 2. The McDonalds model 205S inline check valve (Chemical feed system detail, P-400) does not appear to have an ASSE listing as a backflow protection device. Provide a backflow protection device that is listed for the intended application. Reference: Sections 608.6 and 608.7, IPC 2018. 3. Provide separate indirect waste pipes for each compartment of the 3-compartment sink to protect against cross-contamination or fouling. Reference: Sections 801.2 and 802.1.1, IPC 2018. 4. Air admittance valves are not approved for use in a combination waste and vent system. Reference: Section 918.3, IPC 2018. 5. Provide a vent downstream of the gravity grease separator to protect the seal for the grease separator. Reference: Sections 303.2 and 1003.9, IPC 2018. |
