07/02/2019 | MARTIN BROWN | FIRE | REVIEW | Reqs Change | Almost always, fryers are under a type 1 hood with a fire suppression system in the hood. Please confirm the Pitco Frialator (item 510C on sheet K-1.2) does not need to be under a type 1 hood and provide cut sheets verifying this to be true. |
07/08/2019 | ERIC NEWCOMB | BUILDING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Reqs Change | 1. Sheet Index is incorrect - Sheets A-2.1 , A-5.0a , A-5.1a , M-5.0 , E-7.0 , and P-5.0 are not noted but are attached to plan set . Sheets A-5.0 , A-5.1 , A7.2a , P-4.1 , P-4.2 , P-4.3 , P-4.4 , P-4.5 are noted but are not attached to plan set . IBC 107.2.1. 2. Sheet T-1.0 - Code Check - Occupancy Type A-2 is crossed out and B-2 is written in . Provide the correct Occupancy Type . IBC 107.2.1. |

07/10/2019 | ROBERT SHERRY | MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Reqs Change | 1. Specify the required maximum U-factors and Solar Heat Gain Coefficients (SHGC) for the fenestration and doors on the architectural drawings. Reference: Section C103.2, IECC 2018. 2. As noted in the COMcheck Envelope Compliance Certificate, the reduced indoor lighting power option was selected as the additional efficiency package requirement to comply with Section C406.1, IECC 2018. The lighting plans however do not show compliance with the requirements of Section C406.3, IECC 2018. Revise the indoor lighting plans or select one of the other additional efficiency package options. Reference: Section C401.2, IECC 2018. 3. Show that the proposed HVAC system meets the requirements of Sections C403.2, C403.3.2 (e.g. provide the mechanical energy code compliance certification from COMcheck). Reference: Section C303.1, International Energy Conservation Code 2018. 4. Show that each rooftop unit has a thermostatic control that provides for off-hour and set-back control, automatic shutdown and automatic start-up control (i.e. the thermostat is capable of automatically adjusting the start time of the HVAC equipment in order to bring the interior conditions to the desired temperature at the start of occupancy) and, if the thermostat does not require manual changeover from the heating and cooling modes, it restricts set point overlap. Reference: Section C403.4.2 through C403.4.2.3, IECC 2018. 5. Show that the walk-in cooler and freezer meets the efficiency requirements of Section C403.10.2.1, IECC 2018. 6. Provide structural calculations to verify that the roof framing is adequate to support the proposed mechanical units on the roof (e.g. point load as well as dead load). Provide structural details as required for any special framing revisions needed to support the units and frame the roof penetrations. Reference: Section 302.1, IMC 2018. 7. Show the size, routing, and termination of the condensate drains to an approved disposal location (correct the two notes calling for termination at a splash block on the roof). Reference: Section 307.2.1, IMC 2018 as amended by the City of Tucson. 8. Include Hood-1 on the mechanical schedule. 9. Revise the sequence of operation for the restroom exhaust fan so that all of the air supplied to the restrooms will be exhausted (i.e. all of the air supplied to each restroom is to be exhausted during the hours of operation even if the lights are off). Reference: Section 403.2.1 (4), IMC 2018. 10. The occupant load used to calculate the required ventilation is not necessarily the same as the occupant load used for calculating exiting requirements. The occupant load used for calculating the minimum required ventilation is to be based on Table 403.3.1.1, IMC 2018 or an approved engineering analysis of the specific occupancy type (e.g. for RTU-2 the occupant density is 100 persons/1,000 square feet - fast food area). Reference: Section 403.3.1.1, IMC 2018. 11. Verify the size of the water heater flue and indicate the height of the flue termination above the roof. Reference: Sections 506.3.5 (2) and 503.6.10, IFGC 2018. |
07/11/2019 | ROBERT SHERRY | PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Reqs Change | 1. Complete the equipment schedule to show the quantities of each equipment type that will be installed. Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2018. 2. Verify that the distance to the hot water termination from the hot water source complies with the requirements of Section C404.5, IECC 2018. 3. Appliances (e.g. ice machines, ovens, etc.) to be directly connected to the water supply system that do not have listed, integral backflow preventers or integral air gaps conforming to Section 608.14.1, IPC 2018 require backflow prevention. Specify the type of backflow prevention device required for each water connection. Reference: Sections 608.1 and 608.3, IPC 2018. 4. Water supply connections to coffee machines and non-carbonated beverage dispensers shall be protected with backflow preventers conforming to ASSE 1022 or ASSE 1024. Reference: Section 608.17.1.2, IPC 2018 5. The rim elevation of the next upstream sanitary manhole (9129-01, 2327.06') is higher than the first floor elevation (2325.94'). Provide a backwater valve per Section 714.1, IPC 2018, as amended by the City of Tucson. 6. Provide separate indirect waste pipes for each individual oven or ice cuber to protect against cross-contamination or fouling. Reference: Sections 801.2 and 802.1.1, IPC 2018. 7. A dishwasher may not discharge through a hydromechanical grease interceptor. Verify how the discharge from the dishwasher can be accommodated with the Pima County Regional Wastewater Reclamation Department. Reference: Section 1003.3, IPC 2018, as amended by the City of Tucson. 8. The floor drains in the two restrooms are mislabeled in the sanitary isometric diagram as "floor sinks". 9. Clarify the sanitary isometric diagram. The diagram appears to show the grease interceptor with two inlets and no outlet. Identify which fixtures are required to discharge to the grease interceptor per Section 1003.3, IPC 2018, as amended by the City of Tucson. 10. Clarify the design of the hot water system. Sheet P-1.0 shows two appliances labeled WH-1, an instantaneous water heater (199 MBH) and a storage water heater (75 MBH). (Note: the architectural backgrounds on sheet P-1.0 do not agree with the floor plans in the remainder of the document set.) Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2018. 11. Coordinate the natural gas loads shown on sheets P-1.0 andP-2.0. Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2018. |
