03/08/2017 | KEN BROUILLETTE | FIRE | REVIEW | Reqs Change | Fire Review Comments: Plans indicate 2012 IEBC and 2012 IBC. I need direction on which code is going to be used to determine the fire protection system requirements and exiting requirements. The plans also indicated that building was listed as Historical. Does that mean you will want to use the 2012 IEBC section for Historical Buildings? I could not determine if the proposed or existing emergency egress lighting was on the Generator and if all Exit paths are illuminated properly including the exterior stairway. Do you have any information on the design of the smoke evacuation system as it relates to the enclosed stairways? Thanks, Ken Brouillette |
03/16/2017 | PIMA COUNTY | BUILDING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Reqs Change | T17CM01473, 1474 and 1475 - PLAN REVIEW COMMENTS Reviewer: Chris Anderson, March 15, 2017 BUILDING – COMMERCIAL Ceilings are shown as solid drywall for all bathrooms. Per the mechanical plans, all fan-coil units are located above these ceilings. How will fan coil units be accessed for maintenance and removal? On door schedule, sheet A700, door type 00B-1 must be minimum 90-minutes fire-rated. 2012 IBC Table 707.3.10 and Table 716.5. Per 2012 IBC 1007.9 (1) provide a sign identifying each door type 00B-1 as the entry to an area of refuge. Signs shall say “AREA OF REFUGE.” |

03/16/2017 | PIMA COUNTY | MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Reqs Change | MECHANICAL – COMMERCIAL All fan coil units in the HVAC cooling load calculations indicate an outside Db summer design temperature other than 104-degrees F which is the required summer design temperature per the City of Tucson per amendment to 2012 IECC. Calculations for all units should indicate the same Db design temperature and program rerun. On the heat pump schedule, sheet M301, cooling sensible capacities for all selected units are in excess of the calculated sensible cooling loads. For example FC-4 shows a calculated sensible load of 8.4 MBH and a sensible capacity of 18.7 MBH for the selected unit. Please justify why the capacity for each unit is in excess of the calculated cooling load. Ref. 2012 IECC C403.2.2. |
