With a total requirement of 6 water closets, a family restroom is required in an assembly occupancy. Reference: Footnote (a), Table 2902.1 and Section 1109.2.1, IBC 2012 3. The existing 2" horizontal branch of the building drain that serves the two floor drains in the kitchen is shown being connected to the new grease waste. Clarify how the continuation of the 2" branch beyond the new connection point (i.e. west of the new connection) is to be taken out of service and show how the existing 3" building drain will be provided with a 3" cleanout. Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2012 and Section 708.7, IPC 2012. 4. The existing cleanout for the 2" horizontal branch of the building drain running through the kitchen appears like it will be obstructed by one of the new smokers; show how the cleanout will be either relocated or made accessible. Stone Ave. Metro TED This letter reflects comments to be addressed. The purpose of this review is to verify compliance to the 2012 International Building Code and local amendments. In order to facilitate a shorter back check time, we request that you please provide two complete sets of revised plans and calculations, along with a written response to each of the noted items indicating action taken. Other comment references may be derived from additional codes and standards adopted by The City of Tucson. All features have been checked only to the extent allowed by the submittals provided for review. All portions of this project are assumed to meet other departmental requirements, conditions and concerns before permit approval. 1. Please define the limits of the proposed patio area and provide a maximum occupancy calculation to supplement the occupancy areas indicated inside the building. Note: these occupancy modifications may impact the minimum number of required plumbing fixtures and/or the requirement for a family/assisted use toilet room, 1109.2.1, 2902.1. 2. There are 160 parking spaces provided on the combined parking lots for this project. Please provide six (6) accessible parking spaces per Table 1106.1. 3. Specify the running slope of the modified concrete ramp on the south side of the building as well as the clear width, maximum rise and edge protection in accordance with A117.1-09 section 405. 4. Provide detail drawings of the handrail serving the modified concrete ramp (as referenced in comment 3) including extension beyond bottom of ramp per A117.1-09 section 505. 5. Specify the special inspector assigned to field welding that is currently certified for performing such inspections, 1704.2. 6. Clarify the width of the new opening through the existing north wall to the patio area. Sheet A1.0 calls for 18'8" and the structural design indicates 18', 107.2.1.
