05/19/2015 ROBERT SHERRY MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Reqs Change 1. Comment not addressed. [Initial comment: The NFRC certification numbers (CPD#) have not been included with the COMcheck Envelope Compliance Certificate in this submittal. Factory-manufactured windows are required to have certificates attesting to their compliance to NFRC Standards 100 and 200 and can be provided by the manufacturer or found at www.nfrc.org. For site assembled commercial products, the NFRC component modeling approach program enables commercial window manufacturers to produce bid reports to prove energy performance prior to being awarded a job and provide finalized label certificates once the product has been installed. Fenestration performance reports based on AAMA 507 are based on energy simulations only (no actual testing) and are not acceptable.]
2. Re-label the air conditioning unit calculations to correspond with the units shown on the drawings. [Initial comment: Provide heating and cooling load calculations that justify the capacities of the heating and cooling equipment specified for the project. Reference: Sections C403.2.1 and C403.2.2, IECC 2012.]
3. The ducts from RTU-1 penetrate a 2-hour fire-rated; partition; provide fire dampers. [Initial comment: Verify the fire-rating of the elevator machine room fire barriers complies with the requirements of Section 3006.4, IBC 2012.]
4. Comment not addressed. [Initial comment: Show how the condensing units located on steel platforms within the building (sheet M1.1) comply with the requirement to provide a level working space for maintenance access and protective guards. Reference: Sections 304.11 and 306.1, IMC 2012.
5. Comment not addressed. [Initial comment: Clarify the location of the exhaust discharge for the bathrooms and the clothes dryer for the units where the discharge appears to be located over a balcony and directed downward. Reference: Section 501.3.1.1, IMC 2012.
05/19/2015 ROBERT SHERRY PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Reqs Change 1. Comment not addressed. Note also that the calculations for the allowable friction losses for System 2 (labeled System 1 on sheet P4.1) do not include the pressure gain due to each elevation change or indicate the pressure setting for the pressure reducing valve. [Initial comment: Show how the water pressure at each level will be limited to no more than 80 PSI. Reference: Section 604.8, IPC 2012.]
2. Comment not addressed. [Initial comment: Verify that the longest hot water run is no greater than fifty feet or provide a method for maintaining the temperature of the hot water supply system. Reference: Section 607.2, IPC 2012.]
3. Verify that the vents for the Jacuzzi unit drains rise at least 6" above the flood rim of each Jacuzzi prior to running horizontally. [Initial comment: The drawings show what appear to be room Jacuzzi units (JCZ-A) located on the 1st level mezzanine (4), the 2nd level (4), and the 5th level (4 of the 7 on this level) with no means of drainage. Show how these units are to be drained. In addition, the four terraces on the 2nd level and the four terraces on the 5th level have no visible means for handling rainwater. Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2012.]
4. Clarify the drainage of the terraces. The second level shows seven terraces with no area drainage; the fifth level shows seven terraces with area drains connected to the storm drainage system; and the sixth floor shows six terraces with floor drains connected to both the sanitary and the storm drainage system. [Initial comment: Clarify how and why the floor drains for the three terraces on the 6th level are being connected to the sanitary drain system - they appear to be area drains for rainwater. Reference: Section 1101.3, IPC 2012.]
05/21/2015 FDILLON1 DESIGN EXAMINER REVIEW Denied The DRC approved Design Package (4-8-15) will need to be included in the next submittal to ensure consistency with the building plans. FD
