08/21/2014 ROBERT SHERRY PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Reqs Change 1. Revise the water pipe sizing chart to limit the water velocity to 8 FPS or less (e.g. 15 GPM in a ¾" Type L copper tube has a velocity of 9.9 FPS). Reference: Section 303.2, IPC 2012.
2. Clarify the source of the water demand calculations. The pressure washer is not a plumbing fixture and would not normally be assigned a fixture unit value. Under the methods shown in the IPC, hose bibbs do not have an assigned fixture unit value, just a minimum flow rate of 5 GPM as a design criterion. Provide the manufacturer's flow rate data for the pressure washer. What is the demand associated with the oven and the holding tank? Reference: Sections 604.1 and 604.3, IPC 2012.
3. Show how water is connected to the holding tank and to the oven. Show how any possible cross-contamination is prevented. Reference: Section 608.1, IPC 2012.
4. Clarify how the sump pump is associated with the plumbing system. Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC and Section 712, IPC 2012.
5. Show the dimensions and slope for the rain water gutters. Reference: Sections 1106 and 1108, IPC 2012.
