07/07/2014 JASON GREEN ENGINEERING REVIEW Reqs Change Can not approve the building plan until the DP Package, DP14-0086, is approved. Once the DP is approved the building plan will be compared to the overall site and will be approved. JG
07/08/2014 MARTIN BROWN FIRE REVIEW Denied It appears that Training Room 1 and Training Room 2 should be calculated as Assembly Occupancy with a ratio of 1:15. This total would require 2 exits, therefore making the door swing for door 114 going the wrong direction. Also, this would make the A Occupancy total occupant number greater than 300, indicating a fire alarm with occupant notification is required. Please indicate on cover sheet that deferred submittals include fire sprinkler, fire sprinkler underground supply, fire alarm, and cooking exhaust hood fire suppression systems.

TRANSMITTAL DATE: July 14, 2014

1. The building plans have been reviewed by Zoning Review Section but cannot approve the plan until all zoning comments or concerns have been addressed.

2. Provide overall height dimension on the elevations.

3. Zoning has reviewed the building plans but cannot approve until a development package has been approved.

4. Zoning will re-review the building plan on the next submittal to insure compliance with the approved development package. Additional comments may be forthcoming.

07/17/2014 RONALD BROWN BUILDING-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Reqs Change GENERAL
1. Provide certification for special inspectors.
2. Provide structural calculations and structural details for the following:
a. All roof top mounted HVAC equipment
b. Suspension details for both kitchen exhaust hoods.
c. Outdoor light pole foundations
SHEET A2.0
3. All interior partitions are to go to bottom of structure or be braced to bottom of structure.
SHEET A2.1
4. In plan, show the stair steps outside door 200 just to the south.
SHEET S3.0
5. In the calcs, at the high roof framing key plan on the west end, are calling for HSS 14x6x3/8 north south beams, the drawings show HSS 12x8x3/8. Please reconcile.
6. On pages 43 and 44 of the calculations show DJ2, DJ3 and DJ4. These are not identified however on the key plan. Where do they go?
7. The lintel on column line 6 just past column line J is not identified. Should be LT1?
8. Calcs LT1 is not identified on drawings. Should Be LT8?
9. Calcs LT6 is not identified on drawings. Should be LT4?
SHEET S3.0
10. LT6 scheduled on drawings to be W6x31 while calculations call for a 24" deep masonry lintel. Please reconcile.

07/21/2014 ROBERT SHERRY PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Reqs Change 1. Correct the code references in the Plumbing General Notes on sheets P3.1 and P4.1 to reflect the current codes.
2. Provide thermal insulation for the recirculating hot water system. Reference: Section C404.5, IECC 2012.
3. Show how the water pipes in the open air BBQ structure are to be protected from freezing. Reference: Section 305.4, IPC 2012.
4. Section 604.1, IPC 2012 allows water distribution systems to be designed using accepted engineering methods. The fixture units used for determining the water demand appear to be based on Appendix A of the uniform plumbing Code. If the UPC is the engineering method used, revise the fixture unit values for the water closets, urinals, and the drinking fountains to be for assembly occupancy. If the UPC is not the source of the method used to determine the water demand and size the water distribution system, provide the source of the method used to determine the demand.
5. Provide the piping material specifications. Verify that the specified piping materials comply with the requirements of Sections 605 and 702, IPC 2012.
6. Where is sink P-6 located?
7. Coordinate the fixture schedule with the plumbing plans, 1/P1.1 and 2/p1.1, to show two P-9A waste receptors.
8. Coordinate the kitchen equipment call-outs with the kitchen design drawings (e.g. the plumbing plans shows two K-19 pre-rinse assemblies as does the water isometric, 2/P2.1)
9. Clarify the input for WH-2: 150 CFH (detail 2/p3.1) or 130CF (plumbing plan 2/P1.1).
10. Provide the rim elevation of the next upstream sanitary manhole cover. Determine the need for a backwater valve per Section 715.1, IPC 2012, as amended by the City of Tucson.
07/21/2014 ROBERT SHERRY MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Reqs Change 1. Provide energy code compliance calculations for the building envelope; use the climate zone for Tucson. Provide sufficient detail on the drawings to evaluate the energy compliance of the building envelope. The information shall, as a minimum, include U-factors of the envelope systems and fenestration components, along with the R-values of the insulation and the SHGC for the fenestration. Reference: Sections C103.2 and C401.2, International Energy Conservation Code 2012.
2. Show that the proposed HVAC system meets the requirements of Sections C403.2, C403.3 and, if neither the efficient lighting system nor the on-site renewable energy options are selected, C406.2, IECC 2012 (e.g. provide the mechanical energy code compliance certification from COMcheck). Reference: Section C303.1, International Energy Conservation Code 2012.
3. Provide heating and cooling load calculations that justify the capacities of the heating and cooling equipment specified for the project. Reference: Sections C403.2.1 and C403.2.2, IECC 2012.
4. Show that the exhaust fan, EF-4, complies with Sections 506.5.1 through 506.5.5 or is listed and labeled for the application (i.e. UL 762). Reference: Section 506.5, IMC 2012.
5. Provide a grease drain and collection reservoir for the vertical discharge fan, EF-4. Reference: Section 506.5.2, IMC 2012.
6. Provide structural calculations and details to show that the Type I hood is supported from the building structure in accordance with Section 507.6, IMC 2012 (the hood hanging weight plus the weight of personnel working in or on the hood). Reference: Section 302.1, IMC 2012.
07/21/2014 ROBERT SHERRY WATER REVIEW Reqs Change 1. Tucson Water limits a 1-1/2" meter to a maximum demand of 75 GPM. Revising the submitted water demand calculations to account for the assembly occupancy will result in a maximum demand that approaches 80 GPM. Provide a letter from Tucson Water confirming that the use of a 1-1/2" water meter will be allowed for this project.
2. Revise the site plumbing drawing to show the size and route of the building water supply along with the location and size of both the water meter and the reduced pressure backflow preventer assembly. Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2012.
