| 10/25/2013 | ELEIBOL1 | ENGINEERING | REVIEW | Denied | Engineering will review once site plan is reviewed and at a stage when proposed foot print is acceptable. Keep in mind that roof drainage should be adequately addressed on building plan set - as well as shown on site plan (flow directions and splash pads etc.). |
| 10/28/2013 | STEVE SHIELDS | ZONING | REVIEW | Denied | PDSD TRANSMITTAL FROM: Steve Shields Lead Planner PROJECT: 5901 S, Park Avenue T13CM05791 & T13CM05792 Building Plan (2nd Review) TRANSMITTAL DATE: Ovtober 28, 2013 1. | 11/05/2013 | RONALD BROWN | BUILDING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Approved | |
| 11/15/2013 | ROBERT SHERRY | PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | 1. Correct the code analysis on sheet G100 to show the 2012 IPC as the governing code for this activity. [Initial comment: The 2012 International Plumbing Code has been adopted by the City of Tucson. The use of the 2012 Uniform Plumbing Code (See Code Analysis on G100) is allowed provided an appeal to the building official is filed. There is no charge for this appeal. This review has been done using the 2012 IPC.] 2. Comment not resolved. No site plan showing the requested site utilities has been included with this submittal. Note that an approved development plan or grading permit is not a substitute for a building permit to install site utilities. Reference: Sections 104.2 and 107.1, IBC 2012. [Initial comment: Provide site drawing showing the size, route, and slope of the building sewer and the location of its connection to the public sewer. Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2012.] 3. Again, the use of Table 1106.3, IPC 2012 is not an appropriate method for determining the size of a scupper. Table 1106.3 is for determining the size of horizontal storm drainage pipes running full; scuppers are weirs, not pipes and their sizes are hydraulically calculated. The scuppers for roof areas 2, 4, 5, and 6 are too narrow. [Initial comment: Provide calculations to support the scupper design or provide structural calculations to show that the roof is capable of supporting the additional rain load. Table 1106.3, IPC 2012 is intended for determining the size of horizontal storm drainage pipes running full, not for designing scuppers. Reference: Section 1106, IPC 2012 and Section 1611.1, IBC 2012.] |
| 11/15/2013 | ROBERT SHERRY | WATER | REVIEW | Denied | Comment not resolved. No site plan showing the requested site utilities has been included with this submittal. Note that an approved development plan or grading permit is not a substitute for a building permit to install site utilities. Reference: Sections 104.2 and 107.1, IBC 2012. [Initial comment: Provide a site drawing showing the size and route of the building water supply along with the location and size of both the water meter and the reduced pressure backflow preventer assembly. Reference: Section 107.2.1, IBC 2012.] |
| 11/18/2013 | ROBERT SHERRY | MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | 1. The structural calculations and details were not found. [Initial comment: Provide structural calculations and details to show how the fan coil units are to be connected to the building structure. Reference: Section 302.1, IMC 2012.] 2. Provide the manufacturer's listing information that shows the specified water heaters venting through a side-wall as shown in detail 108. [Initial comment: Detail 108 calls for a 4" PVC flue with a wall termination for all of the gas-fired water heaters. The specified water heaters have an 80% thermal efficiency and require a draft hood and approved metal vent pipes. Show the water heaters being installed per the manufacturer's instructions. Reference: Sections 301 and 304.1, IMC 2012 and Sections 503 and 503.6.4, IFGC 2012.] 3. The elevator shaft has a 2-hour fire-rating; how is the wall louver protecting the fire-rating of the enclosure? [Initial comment: Provide independent ventilation or an independent air conditioning system for the elevator machine rooms. Reference: Section 3006.2, IBC 2012.] |
