01/25/2013 | ROBERT SHERRY | WATER | REVIEW | Denied | Provide a site drawing showing the size and route of the building water supply along with the location and size of both the water meter and the reduced pressure backflow preventer assembly. Indicate the demand that the water meter will be serving. Reference: Section 103.2.3, UPC 2006. |
01/25/2013 | ROBERT SHERRY | PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | 1. Clarify the plumbing code to be used for this activity; the project data on sheet A1.0 refers to both the 2006 IPC and the 2006 UPC. This review has been made using the 2006 UPC. 2. Provide plumbing plans for the new work, including water and gas piping, T&P relief pipe for the water heater, water isometrics and waste and vent isometrics. Reference: Section 103.2.3, UPC 2006. 3. Complete detail 2/P1.0 to show the pipe sizes and the flow rate for the recirculation system (all currently shown as "X"). Reference: Section 103.2.3, UPC 2006. 4. Provide sufficient information to show that the installation of the new plumbing fixtures will not cause the existing water supply and sanitary waste systems to become overloaded. Reference: Section 101.5.1, UPC 2006. 5. Clarify the nature of the proposed mop sink. The architectural and plumbing drawings indicate that the mop sink is to be constructed on site but the preliminary kitchen drawings indicate that the general/plumbing contractor will supply the sink. Provide construction details if the sink is to be constructed on site. Reference: Sections 401.1, 406.0, and 411.0, UPC 2006. 6. Clarify which fixtures are to be connected to the grease waste system as opposed to the sanitary waste system. Reference: Sections 103.2.3 and 1014.1, UPC 2006. 7. Revise the waste connection size for the sanitary floor drain P-2a in the fixture connection schedule to coordinate with the plumbing specifications. Reference: Section 316.4.1, UPC 2006. 8. Each vent pipe shall rise vertically to a minimum of 6" above the flood-level rim of the fixture it serves before offsetting horizontally. Reference: Section 905.3, UPC 2006. |

01/28/2013 | ROBERT SHERRY | MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | 1. Provide structural details to show how the fan coil units are to be connected to the building structure. Reference: Section 302.1, IMC 2006. 2. Clarify the balancing data for FC-15. In the air balance schedule it is called out as a 5-ton unit but with only 1600 CFM supply; on the mechanical plan it is shown with a supply flow rate of only 1200 CFM. Reference: Section 304.1, IMC 2006. 3. Revise the size of the grease ducts to provide a minimum velocity of 1500 feet per minute at full flow conditions. Reference: Section 506.3.4, IMC 2006, as amended by the City of Tucson. 4. The exhaust fan schedule notes that EF-1 is to be controlled by a "VAV hood EMS panel"; verify that the minimum duct velocities will comply with the requirements of Section 506.3.4, IMC 2006, as amended by the City of Tucson. 5. Show the locations of the cleanouts for the grease ducts. Reference: Sections 506.3.8 and 506.3.9, IMC 2006. 6. Provide specifications for the proposed Type I and Type II hoods. The kitchen drawings are shop drawings and as such, are not a replacement for sealed drawings. Reference: Section 507.1, IMC 2006. 7. Provide structural calculations and details to show that the Type I and Type II hoods are supported from the building structure in accordance with Section 507.6, IMC 2006. Reference: Section 302.1, IMC 2006. 8. Verify that the hood installation complies with Section 507.9, IMC 2006 for clearances. Wall type L allows both metal and wood studs and the J (stainless steel panels) and K (tile) notations for the wall covering do not indicate the extent of either wall covering (also, the kitchen drawings are marked "Preliminary - not for construction"). |
