| 11/29/2012 | ROBERT SHERRY | PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | 1. Coordinate the civil site drawing (C-400) with the plumbing plan. The civil plan shows a 2" water service line entering the building near column D-4 and an existing 1-1/2" water meter located on the east property line; the reduced pressure backflow preventers for water service and for irrigation service are located adjacent to the water meter. Reference: Section 106.3.1, IPC 2006. 2. Revise or remove detail 3/P-610. Reduced pressure backflow prevention assemblies are required to be installed in locations accessible to Tucson Water (See civil drawing C-400). Reference: Chapter XXVII, Article V, Section 27-72, the Tucson Code, http://cms3.tucsonaz.gov/sites/default/files/water/docs/backflow-ordinance.pdf 3. Provide a design for the mounting shelf for the water heater along with structural calculations to show that the water heater is safely supported from the building structure (no details were found in the architectural or structural drawings). Clarify the tag for the water heater; it is GWH-1 on sheet P-111 and EWH-1 on sheet P-610. Reference: Sections 106.3.1 and 301.2, IPC 2006. 4. Provide tempered water for the lavatories using approved devices conforming to ASSE 1070 (the specified thermostatic mixing valve is listed as conforming to ASSE 1017). Reference: Section 416.5, IPC 2006. 5. Provide an approved anti-siphon device (e.g. vacuum relief valve) for storage-type water heaters located above any fixture outlets. Reference: Section 504.1, IPC 2006. 6. Show how the roof drains and the overflow roof drains are to be terminated. Reference: Sections 1101.8 and 1107.2, IPC 2006. |
