11/01/2012 | RAY MAJUTA | ELECTRICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Approved | T12CM05861 1335 W Ajo Dollar General Sent E-mail today today to Mr Jack Cronell ,PolyPhase Eng, concerning the response letter dated Oct 26,2012.The letter had comments on allowing the 400 amp service to be allowed which would feed a 398 amp load. After consideration and in talking to other Plans Examiners including some from other jurisdictions, it was decided to request a larger service to feed the 398 amp load. We research three other Dollar General Buildings in Tucson and found each to be fed with 50 amps or more to each. I feel that the building being new requires a larger ampacity at the service in order to provide for growth. The NEC , Article 90 Section B indicates that an installation be adequate for good service or future expansion of electrical use. This service is too close for it's calculation.
