06/27/2012 | ROBERT SHERRY | PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | 1. Comment not resolved. The drawings now consistently indicate the size of the proposed grease interceptor and that there is to be a 3" vent for the interceptor but the drawings still do not indicate how or where the vent connects to the interceptor and there is no information regarding the required cleanouts for the building sewer or for the interceptor. [Second Comment: Clarify the proposed capacity and installation of the gravity grease interceptor. The civil drawing, UT01, calls for a 1250-gallon unit, sheets P3.2 and P3.4 call out a 1500-gallon unit and the submitted cut sheets are for a 1300-gallon unit. In addition, the calculations shown on sheet P3.4 actually indicate a 1000-gallon interceptor is an acceptable size. No drawings show how the interceptor is to be vented and there is no information regarding the required cleanouts.] [Original comment: Provide sufficient information to show that the installation of the proposed gravity grease interceptor complies with the requirements of Sections 1009.0, 1014.1, and 1014.3, UPC 2006. (A note on sheet UT01, Utility Plan, refers to the plumbing sheets for this information.)] 2. Note 1 on the Interceptor Schedule (sheet P3.2) states, "See grease interceptor notes on sheet P4.0." Provide either the missing sheet or the missing notes. Reference: Section 103.2.3, UPC 2006. 3. The new keynote 11 on sheet P1.2 calls for the installation of Pro-vent Trap Guards. Pro-vent Trap Guards are not approved for use in the City of Tucson. Reference: Sections 316.4, 1007.0, and 1007.1, UPC 2006, as amended by the City of Tucson. 4. Sheet P1.2 has been revised to the point that it is almost illegible. The line weights for the building drains have been reduced so that they become lost among the background lines and the poché. In addition, labels (e.g. 4" ST, 5" ST, and 6" ST) have been randomly scattered around the floor plan. Revise the drawing to clearly show the proposed work so that it can be reviewed for conformance to the requirements of the plumbing code. Reference: Section 103.2.3, UPC 2006. |
