12/02/2011 | ROBERT SHERRY | PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | Comment not resolved; details A/CA-4 and C/CA-4 clearly show that the primary storm drainage from the canopy is by way of 3" rain leaders connecting to the perimeter gutter of the canopy. The secondary storm drainage for the canopy is from scuppers cut into the side of the perimeter gutter. In detail C/CA-4, the rain leader is shown with two options: terminate at the face of the pump island, or connect directly to an underground storm drain system. Provide a cleanout at the base of each leader, prior to the connection to the horizontal drain if the leaders do not terminate at the face of the pump island. (In addition, the minimum height of a scupper is 4", not 2" as shown in detail G/CA-4.1. Detail A/CA-4 shows that the height of the gutter is 8" so increasing the height of the scuppers should not be a problem. Reference: Section 1101.11.2.1, UPC 2006. [Original comment: If the 3" PVC rain leaders terminate directly to an underground storm drainage system, provide a cleanout at the base of each leader, prior to the connection to the horizontal drain. Reference: Section 1101.12.1, UPC 2006.] |
