07/18/2011 ROBERT SHERRY PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Denied 1. The City of Tucson allows either the 2006 International Plumbing Code or the 2006 Uniform Plumbing Code to be used for the minimum basis of design but not both codes. The architectural title sheet lists both codes as applicable and the plumbing drawings appear to have been designed primarily per the 2006 UPC with portions based on the 2006 IPC. The plumbing drawings have been reviewed to the 2006 UPC as amended by the City of Tucson.
2. Provide a vacuum relief valve for the water heater. Reference: Section 608.7, UPC 2006.
3. Provide cleanouts that are the same nominal size as the pipes that they serve. Reference: Section 707.11, UPC 2006.
07/18/2011 ROBERT SHERRY MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Denied 1. Revise the size of the condensate drains in accordance with Section 307.2.1, IMC 2006, as amended by the City of Tucson.
2. Confirm the sequence of operation for the restroom exhaust fans results in all of the air supplied to the restrooms being exhausted (i.e. the exhaust fans are to run whenever air is being supplied to the restroom). The mechanical plans call for an independent switch for each fan but the electrical plans call for the exhaust fans to be interconnected with the room lights. Reference: Section 403.2.1 (4), IMC 2006.
