| 12/28/2010 | ROBERT SHERRY | MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | 1. Provide construction documents drawn with sufficient detail and clarity (e.g. legible backgrounds, column lines, etc.) to demonstrate that the work complies with the applicable codes. Reference: Section 106.1.1, IBC 2006. 2. Provide energy code compliance calculations (using Pima County < 4,000 feet). Provide sufficient detail on the drawings to evaluate the energy compliance of the building envelope. The information shall, as a minimum, include U-factors of the envelope systems and fenestration components, along with the R-values of the insulation and the SHGC for the fenestration. Reference: Sections 101.4 and 104.2, International Energy Conservation Code 2006. 3. The minimum insulation for ducts located in indirectly conditioned spaces within the building envelope is R-4.2 (installed). Reference: Section 503.2.7, IECC 2006, as amended by the City of Tucson. 4. Provide vertical dirt legs for the refrigerant relief pipes for chiller CH-1. Reference: Section 304.1, IMC 2006. 5. Show that the restroom floors slope toward the floor drains. Reference: Section 411.2, UPC 2006. 4. Equipment (e.g. boilers) to be directly connected to the water supply system that do not have listed, integral backflow preventers or integral air gaps conforming to Table 6-3, UPC 2006 require backflow prevention. Specify the type of backflow prevention device required for each water connection. Reference: Sections 602.3, 603.0, and Table 6-2, UPC 2006. 5. Provide CW shut off valves for each building entrance. Reference: Section 605.2, UPC 2006. 6. Provide water pressure and water pipe sizing calculations. Include all fixtures and the estimated demand for HVAC equipment and process equipment when calculating the total demand and determining the pipe sizes. Reference: Section 610.1, UPC 2006. 7. Provide the rim elevation of the next upstream sanitary manhole and the first floor elevation. Determine the need for a backwater valve per Section 710.1, UPC 2006, as amended by the City of Tucson. 8. Provide a natural gas piping design, including a natural gas schematic showing the sizes, loads and developed lengths of the piping. Reference: Sections 103.2.3 and 1217.0, UPC 2006. 9. Provide roof drainage calculations and plans for areas B (primary and secondary) and C (primary) of the building. All roof areas shall be drained by roof drains, scuppers, or gutters. Reference: Section 1101.11.1, UPC 2006. 10. The architectural plans indicate that the overflow drainage for area C will be accommodated with overflow scuppers. Detail N7/A503 indicates a height of 4" for each scupper but does not show a width for each scupper. Provide the width for each scupper. Reference: Section 1101.11.2.1, UPC 2006. 11. Clarify the horizontal rainwater conductors shown along column line "O" on sheet P203A. The two horizontal conductors are both labeled as 6"RWC. Are the two roof drains and two overflow roof drains being combined or is it a drafting issue? Show how expansion/contraction of the pipe will be accommodated. Reference: Sections 103.2.3, 313.2, and 1101.11.2.2, UPC 2006. |
