08/10/2010 ERIC NEWCOMB BUILDING-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Denied 1. PREVIOUS COMMENT 10: THE NEW DETAIL ON SHEET SK2 OF THE STRUCTURAL CALCULATIONS (SUPPORT FOR NEW OVEN HOOD) MUST BE INCLUDED ON A FULL-SIZE DRAWING.
08/19/2010 ROBERT SHERRY MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Denied Clarify the specifications for the make up air unit. Note 26 calls for a tempered air unit with a DX coil and electric heat but the make up air fan schedule and the air balance schedule on sheet M-2 do not reflect the same capabilities. In addition, coordinate with the electrical design and provide a condensate drain for the DX coil. Reference: Section 106.3.1, IMC 2006.
08/19/2010 ROBERT SHERRY PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Denied 1. The installation of the specified Zurn GT2700-50 hydromechanical grease interceptor requires a flow control device to be installed as close as possible to each fixture connected to the interceptor. Section 1014.2.1, UPC 2006 requires the flow control device to be readily accessible and visible, which is physically impossible with fixtures that are roughed in at floor level - consider specifying a hydromechanical grease interceptor with an integral flow control device. Additionally, no system vents may be located between the flow control vent and the hydromechanical grease interceptor. (Detail 1/P-2 should be revised to position the floor sink upstream of the 3-compartment sink per Section 704.3, UPC 2006 and to show the floor sink trapped and vented per Sections 901.0 and 1014.1.1, UPC 2006.)
2. Sizing the hydromechanical grease interceptor per Table 10-2, UPC 2006 allows the use of the specified hydromechanical grease interceptor with up to 20 drainage fixture units so including the hand sinks does not make a difference.
3. Delete the vent shown for the inlet of the hydromechanical grease interceptor. Reference: Section 1014.2.1, UPC 2006.
