05/10/2010 ROBERT SHERRY MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Denied 1. Provide energy code compliance calculations for the envelope of the building addition, using the climate zone for Pima County < 4,000 feet. Provide sufficient detail on the drawings to evaluate the energy compliance of the building envelope. The information shall, as a minimum, include U-factors of the envelope systems and fenestration components, along with the R-values of the insulation and the SHGC for the fenestration. Reference: Sections 101.4 and 104.2, International Energy Conservation Code 2006.
2. Provide guards for equipment located within 10 feet of a roof edge or of a walking surface that is elevated more than 30 inches above the adjoining grade (e.g. freezer unit, EF-4, and EF-5; note that the freezer unit is shown at a different location on sheet A104). Reference: Section 304.10, IMC 2006.
3. Show the size, routing, and termination of the condensate drains. Condensate drains may not terminate over a roof drain or gutter unless the roof drain or gutter terminates at or above grade in an area capable or absorbing the condensate flow without surface drainage. Reference: Section 307.2 and 307.2.2, IMC 2006 as amended by the City of Tucson.
4. Clarify the basis of the ventilation calculations and show how they relate to the requirements of Table 403.3. Reference: Sections 403.2, 403.3, and 403.3.2, IMC 2006.
5. Revise the sequence of operation for restroom exhaust fans EF-4 and EF-5 to show that all of the air supplied to the restrooms will be exhausted. Reference: Section 403.2.1 (4) and footnote (h), Table 403.3, IMC 2006

05/10/2010 ROBERT SHERRY WATER REVIEW Denied 1. Clarify the purpose of the double check valve located in the janitor's room. City of Tucson Ordinance requires a reduced pressure backflow prevention assembly to be located immediately after the water meter. Reduced pressure backflow prevention assemblies are required to be installed in locations accessible to Tucson Water. Reference COT Ordinance, http://www.tucsonaz.gov/water/docs/backflow-ord.pdf
2. Provide the total connected water demand that will result from this activity. Tucson Water limits a 1" meter to a maximum demand of 25 GPM. Reference: Sections 610.1 and 610.2, UPC 2006.
