Plan review for the above referenced structure has been completed. This letter reflects comments to be addressed. In order to facilitate a shorter back check time, we request that you please provide revised plans and calculations, highlighting any changes, along with a written response to each of the notated items indicating action taken.

SCOPE OF REVIEW:
The scope of this plan review covers architectural, plumbing, mechanical, energy conservation and electrical. All code references are to the 2006 International Residential Code, 2006 International Energy Conservation Code, and Arizona State amendments to the 2006 Uniform Plumbing Code. All features were checked only to the extent allowed by the submittals provided. All portions of this project are assumed to meet or will meet other departmental requirements, conditions and concerns before permit approval.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
All corrections and revisions shall be made on original tracings or a finished reproducible set. Return two sets along with a set of the first submission for reference. Pen or pencil corrections on final prints will not be acceptable. To avoid delays, ensure that all corrections have been made, are complete, and have been coordinated on all applicable detail and notate sheets. (Do not cloud the changes made for comment revisions). Incorporate changes on originals and provide two copied sets for review.

All engineers and architects involved in the design of the structure are to seal the related sheets of plans, details and calculations in accordance with the rules of the State Board of Technical Registration.

The City of Tucson adopted the 2006 IRC with amendments on 6/12/2007 and the 2006 UPC with amendments on 7/10/2007. For initial construction: Effective 1/1/2007 the Inclusive Home Design; starting 3/1/2009 Solar Water Preparation and 7/1/2009 Solar Photo-Voltaic Preparation are required for all new SFR and duplex plans. Show the code references on the plans. Amendments to adopted codes are at the City web-site http://www.tucsonaz.gov: Planning, Building, & Business; under the Building topic; Building Ordinances and Codes; Building Codes

GENERAL NOTES:

" Limit all code references to those recognized by the City of Tucson. Adopted codes are listed at the Planning & Development Services web site. Show the code references used for the design.
" Show compliance with the Inclusive Home Design Ordinance adopted by the City of Tucson on 10/16/2007. Notate accessible route, minimum door width, changes in floor elevation, door hardware, electrical outlet reach range, grab bar reinforcement, etc.
" Revise the Inclusive Home Design notation for City of Tucson (Title & item #1), 2006 (item #2) and electrical thermostat height 48" (item #7 third bullet).
" All SFR and Duplex plans submitted after March 1, 2009 require a solar water system, or future installation preparation City of Tucson Ordinance #10549 with one of the following provisions: ½"control conduit and two ¾" copper piping for water with rooftop termination; straight 3" metallic sleeve; or an accessible attic (clear path 30" wide x 30" high) over the water heater. Show appropriate notation.
" All SFR and Duplex plans submitted after July 1, 2009 require a solar photo-voltaic system, or future installation preparation City of Tucson Ordinance #10549 with the following provisions: 1. A 4 square feet area for (meter, disconnect & inverter) equipment adjacent to the electrical service panel or near the proposed collector panel space. 2. The best roof space available for accommodating PV solar collector panels with capacity for collector dead loading (typically 4 lbs/SF). 3. A minimum 3,800 volt-ampere PV electrical load entry on the Service Load Calculation (Show as a continuous load of 15.8 A). 4. An Electrical Panel Schedule with a 240 volt circuit breaker space labeled "reserved for Photo Voltaic". Show appropriate notation.
" Provide ¼" = 1' scaled drawings with legible notation (minimum 3/32" lettering).
" Provide consecutive sheet numbers on each construction drawing, R106.1.1.

SITE PLAN:

1. Indicate the existing water pipe size to building, R106.1.1.

STRUCTURAL PLANS:

1. This building requires a structural design by a registered engineer in the state of Arizona, R602.10.10. Arizona Statute 32-144.4. Also, framed wall over 10' with roof spans exceeding 12', Table R602.3.1 footnote b.

SECTIONS - DETAILS:

1. Show compliance with R806.4 by stating "no vapor retarders at the ceiling" for roofs without vented attic space.

PLUMBING PLANS:

1. Clarify the point of connection of the new cold water line to an existing ¾" service pipe. Clarify the service pipe size between the meter and point of connection. Existing water pipes may require replacement to larger sizes, UPC 610.8, Table 6-6.

ELECTRICAL PLANS:

1. Show exterior receptacles as GFCI protected E3802.3 with weatherproof covers, E3805.11.
2. Show all receptacle outlets in the bathroom (14B) with ground fault circuit interrupting protection. Label each receptacle GFCI requiring such protection, E3802.

OUTDOOR LIGHTING CODE

1. Provide spec sheets for all full cut-off fixtures showing the lamp type, placement and fixture wattage. All other fixtures are assumed to be unshielded (non-FCO style).
2. Include all exterior fixtures on the property in the outdoor lighting calculations (OLC 3.1.2). Fixture ratings are determined by the rated fixture wattage, not the installed lamp wattage. Lamps are used to convert from wattage to lumens. The lamp style determines the lumen efficiency.
