10/09/2009 RONALD BROWN ZONING HC REVIEW Denied 1. As per sheet N1.1, APPLICABLE CODES schedule, the 2006 IBC is listed as the applicable building code. Which it is in the City of Tucson. Also listed is the American with Disabilities Act apparently for accessibility compliance.
a. It is also noted that the toilet accessibility elevations and details are those complying with ADAAG design standards.
b. The 2006 IBC, Chapter 11, Section 1101.2 DESIGN requires ICC (ANSI) 117.1 as the accepted accessibility code. ADAAG reviews are available for your project should you so desire by submitting an appeal to the building official. The appeal form is available on our website. There is a $120.00 fee for the appeal. 10/27/2009 ROBERT SHERRY PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Denied 1. Appliances (e.g. coffee makers, smoothie machines, etc) to be directly connected to the water supply system that do not have listed, integral backflow preventers or integral air gaps conforming to Table 6-3, UPC 2006 require backflow prevention. Reference: Sections 602.3, 603.0, and Table 6-2, UPC 2006.
2. Provide a vacuum relief for storage-type water heaters located above any fixture outlets. Reference: Section 608.7, UPC 2006.
3. One of the specified fixtures (Moyer Deibel dishwasher) requires a minimum pressure greater than the 20-PSI used in the water pipe sizing calculations. Revise calculations as necessary. Reference: Section 608.1, UPC 2006.
4. The Pima County Regional Wastewater Reclamation Department has issued a new grease interceptor sizing criteria that will affect your design. The new minimum size for a hydromechanical interceptor has been set to 50 GPM with a 100 pound grease capacity. Contact RWRD (Doug Kirkland, 520- 443-6200) to confirm that your revised design will meet their requirements.
5. Clarify Note 11, sheet P2.1: what is meant by "…in slab under Hotzi oven location…" Also, clarify how the integral flow control device supplied with the grease interceptor manufacturer is to be accessible and vented. Reference: section 103.2.3, UPC 2006.
6. Provide protection of the trap seals for all floor drains subject to infrequent use. Reference: Sections 1007.0 and 1007.1, UPC 2006, as amended by the City of Tucson.
7. Clarify what is being installed in the rear sales area near the 3-compartment sink. An additional sink (hand washing sink?) is shown next to the 3-compartment sink but is not called out; a floor sink is also shown but is called out as both a floor sink (P2.1 and P2.3) and as a floor drain (P2.2 and P 2.4). Hot and cold water are being supplied to the floor drain on sheet P2.4. Reference: section 103.2.3, UPC 2006.
8. The dishwasher ("N") is specified as indirectly draining to a floor sink (P1.1); where is the floor sink located? Reference: section 103.2.3, UPC 2006.
