11/19/2009 RICK MYERS PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Denied 1. Correct detail 6 on sheet P-4.0. Two compartments connected together will require a trap, and connecting vent. The floor sink will require a vent. How is the 3" vertical riser related to the 3" grease waste? 2. Reference: 608.7 2006 UPC. Water heaters located above the fixture outlets to have vacuum relief valve. See detail twelve on sheet P-4.0 3. See sheet A-1.3 detail seven. Roof Plan. Roof Plan shows two sets of roof drains and overflow drains. Plumbing sheets make no reference to roof drains or rain water leaders. To where do the rain leaders drain? What are their material types? How do they terminate?

12/08/2009 ROBERT SHERRY MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Denied 1. The envelope energy code compliance calculations do not appear to be coordinated with the building design. With the exception of the exterior wall behind the hood, the walls have wood stud construction, not metal stud construction; and according to Section 1/A-2.2, the roof has R-19 rigid insulation above the roof deck and the R-30 batt insulation appears to be limited to small areas of the structure. Reference: Sections 101.4 and 104.2, International Energy Conservation Code 2006.
2. Coordinate the structural detail for supporting the two hoods and supply plenums (detail 9/S-5.0). The geometry of the hanger locations for the hoods and supply plenums (see the hood plan view, M-4.0) will result in significantly more than 150 pounds being supported at a single point. In addition, the mechanical code requires that the weight of a person be included with that of a hood when the support is calculated. Reference: Sections 302.1 and Section 507.6, IMC 2006.
3. The control diagram for the hoods does not appear to show that the exhaust fans and make up fan will start automatically when cooking commences. Provide information to show that the operation of the Type I hood and the hood exhaust fan complies with Section 507.2.1.1, IMC 2006.
