Provide upper terminal cleanouts on horizontal drainage pipes exceeding 5 feet in length (horizontal drain lines serving sinks require cleanouts regardless of length). Reference: Section 707.4, UPC 2006. 10. Provide cleanouts sized per Section 707.11, UPC 2006. 11. Any fitting or connection in a drainage system that results in a reduction of the pipe area (i.e. 3" building sewer downstream of a 4" 2-way cleanout) is prohibited. Reference: Section 316.4.1, UPC 2006. 12. If a field inspection shows that the first floor elevation of the new building is less than 12" above the rim elevation of the next upstream manhole and a backwater valve (not a backflow prevention valve) is needed, refer to Section 904, UPC 2006, for venting requirements. 13. Provide the total number of drainage fixture units that are to be connected to the existing 4" HCS. If the total flow for the private sewage collection system for this project is in excess of 3000 gallons per day, the design for the system must be submitted to the Pima County Department of Environmental Quality for their approval prior to obtaining a permit for constructing the sewage collection system from the City of Tucson. Reference: A.R.S. 49-104 (B) (13). 14. Provide specifications and details to show how the fire-rating will be preserved at the combustible piping penetrations of the fire-resistance-rated partitions. Reference: Section 1505.0, UPC 2006. |
