SUBJECT: Tucson Water Booster Plan Engineering Review
REVIEWER: Elizabeth Leibold, PE

SUMMARY: PDSD Engineering Division has reviewed at the counter the submittal package that includes a copy of the construction plans of the Tucson Water booster station, and recommends approval of the permit with the following conditions.

CONDITIONS OF PERMIT:
The following 8 conditions apply to permits T09BU01250 / T09CM01981:
1) Prior to foundation construction, a geotechnical report shall be submitted that addresses structure foundation preparation and conforms to project's specifications document. Geotechnical compaction results shall also be submitted prior to foundation construction.
2) Erosion protection shall be provided at interceptor swale exit points to dissipate energy and minimize erosion.
3) Call for PDSD Engineering Inspection meetings. For a DSD Engineering Inspection, call IVR (740-6970), or schedule with a Customer Service Representative at the Development Services Department, or contact DSD Engineering at 837-4888, or schedule inspections online at: http://www.ci.tucson.az.us/dsd/Online_Services/Online_Permits/online_permits.html
4) A copy of the approved Grading Plans, SWPPP and Permits shall be kept at the site at all times, until final grading approval.
5) It is recommended that temporary erosion control devices be placed within disturbance limits at locations where stormwater runoff exits grading limits to prevent debris, construction silt, and/or chemicals from entering any drainage ways that eventually discharge into downstream receiving waters.
6) If grading construction is expected to last longer than the expiration date of the grading permit, contact DSD to renew/extend the Grading Permit. If Final Grading Inspection has not been completed before the Grading Permit expires, and the permit has not been renewed, additional fees and reviews may be required.
7) The permitee shall notify the DSD when the grading operation is ready for final grading inspection. Final grading approval shall not be given until all work, including installation of all drainage improvements and their permanent protective devices, and all permanent erosion control measures have been completed in accordance with the approved grading plan and grading permit, and all conditions of permit are completed.
8) Letters of certification from Geotechnical/Soils Engineer are required along with field observation and testing reports, at final grading inspection stage. Letters of certification from Engineer of Record and Geotechnical Engineer for project substantial completion of project and As-built Grading Plans are required per DS Sec.11-01.16, and shall be submitted prior to final grading inspection.
