02/25/2009 ROBERT SHERRY PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Denied 1. Coordinate the sanitary waste, grease waste, and storm drainage designs as shown on sheets P1.2, P3.1, and P3.3. There is no storm sewer located on the project site (see sheet UT01) and the grease waste for the building has apparently been replaced by the "storm sewer". In addition, since the roof drains and leaders do not terminate over an area that can absorb the condensate waste without surface drainage (see sheet SD1), the condensate drains cannot terminate over the roof drains. Reference Section 103.2.3, UPC 2006 and Section 307.2.1, IMC 2006, as amended by the City of Tucson. (Note: the tables referenced in the roof drain calculations on sheet P3.4 are from the IPC and not from the UPC; also, Table 1106.7 is not included in the IPC.)
2. The civil drawings (SP1 and SD1) show a reduced pressure backflow prevention assembly located in a location accessible to Tucson Water personnel. Is the reduced pressure backflow prevention assembly shown on sheets P1.0 and P3.0 supposed to be in addition to the one shown on the civil drawings? If it is, include its pressure drop in the water pressure calculations. (Reduced pressure backflow prevention assemblies for the building water service are required to be installed in locations accessible to Tucson Water. Reference: COT Ordinance 9976, http://www.tucsonaz.gov/water/docs/backflow-ord.pdf)
02/26/2009 ROBERT SHERRY MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Denied Show the size of the condensate drain for rooftop unit P-1. Revise the termination of the condensate drains to comply with the requirements of Section 307.2.1, IMC 2006, as amended by the City of Tucson.
