IF YOU CARE TO DISCUSS.

1. Revise the font size used on the drawings to a minimum of 1/8-inch (all upper case). Reference Section 302.3, Uniform Administrative Code, 1997.
2. Please note that the electrical installation shall comply with the 2002 NEC and City of Tucson, not State of Arizona amendments. Reference Sheet MEP0.1. Now, load calculations have pulled references to the 2005 NEC, which would also be acceptable because the City of Tucson is close to adopting such Code. However, it is necessary to choose one an use it consistently throughout this project.
3. It appears that the exit sign and emergency lighting in Stair Rm 150 does not comply with NEC 700.12 (E), since such fixtures are all on Ckt L1A-6. Compliance can only be achieved under the Exception to this paragraph. Typical for all areas for which this applies.
4. If the condenser is running, the fan coil must operate, or else the condenser will shut off. So add the fan coil to load calculations. And please note that it appears that certain electrical loads in the Receptacle column are not covered under NEC Table 220.44, because they are to be counted at greater than 180 VA each. Reference NEC 220.14 (I).
5. CU-8 is on Ckt L1M-38/40 on the Power Plan. This Ckt is EUH-1 on the panel schedule. Please clarify.
6. CU-9 through CU-12 are MOCP 15 on the mechanical schedule. Circuit breakers are rated for 20A.
7. Provide a disconnecting means for the automatic door opener. Reference NEC Part IX.
8. AC-3 and AC-4 have MOCP 35. CBs protect at 40A. Please clarify and correct. AC-1 has MOCP 60. CB protects at 70A. Typical for all such cases.
9. On Sheet E1.4a, please correct "LIK-24/26" to read "LIK-22/24."
10. Lighting fixtures on Sheet E1.5a are on Panel LA. Show the panel schedule. Typical for all such cases.
11. L2A-1 powers second floor corridor lighting according to the panel schedule. This circuit powers Guest Laundry, Storage, and Electrical Room as well. Please clarify.
12. Electrical loading on Panel Schedule for AC-6 does not appear to account for the full load on this circuit.
13. All Living Rooms shall have sufficient receptacles to meet the requirements of NEC 210.52 (A).
14. Show the bathroom branch circuit on the panel schedule. Reference NEC 210.11 (C) (3).
15. Demonstrate compliance with the Tucson Lighting Code, http://www.tucsonaz.gov/dsd/Codes___Ordinances/Tucson_Lighting_Code.pdf.
16. Demonstrate compliance with the 2003 IECC.
17. For all poles greater than 20' in height, submit detail and calculations for the pole and foundation, sealed by a Registered Structural Engineer.
18. Equipment Grounding Conductors run in the 400A feeders from MSB1 shall be sized per NEC Table 250.122. Minimum #3, not #6, in each parallel conduit.
19. Address the grounding for Second Building or Structure, Panel L1P. Reference NEC 250.32 (A), (B) (1).
20. Ckts L1A-9 and L1A-11 are for cab lighting per Keynote 3 on Sheet E1.6b. But on the panel schedules these circuits are for the elevator pit. Please clarify, and meet all requirements of NEC 620.22 for the car lighting, and 620.24 for pit lighting.
21. Ckts L1A and L1B are used twice, once on Detail 1 and once on Detail 2 of Sheet E1.6b.
22. Please put the lighting and receptacle loads in Room 253 on a dedicated, separate branch circuit. Reference NEC 620.23.
05/07/2007 ROBERT SHERRY MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Denied 1. Provide energy code compliance calculations. Reference Section 101.4, International Energy Conservation Code 2003.
2. Clarify the intended use of room 253 - electrical room (detail 2/M1.5 and 2/E1.2) or elevator equipment room (A1.2)?
3. Provide protection for the duct and air transfer penetrations of the fire-resistance-rated assemblies in rooms 251,252, and 253. Reference Section 507.53, IMC 2003.
4. Revise the ventilation calculation for AC-1 (lobby) in accordance with the Section 403.3, IMC 2003, as amended by the City of Tucson. The system ventilation efficiency (section 6.2.5.2) must be used when determining the design outside air intake.
5. The minimum insulation for ducts located in unconditioned spaces within the building envelope is R-5 (installed). There is no exception for short lengths of duct. Reference Section 803.2.8, IECC 2003.
6. Provide the installed weight of the Fan coil units. Reference Section 106.3.1, IMC 2003.
7. Show how adequate access is being provided for the equipment located in the attic space. Reference Section 306.3, IMC 2003.
8. Show the sizes of all of the condensate drain pipes for AC units 7, 8, 11, and 12. Reference Section 307.2, IMC 2003 and Section 807.2, UPC 2003.
9. Provide information to show that the termination of the restroom exhaust complies with the requirements of Section 401.5.2, IMC 2003.
10. Provide details to show that the construction of the clothes dryer exhaust duct located in room 251 complies with the requirements of Section 504.2, IMC 2003.
11. Show that the design of the common dryer exhaust duct complies with the manufacturer's requirements or provide calculations to show that the design will not result in the accumulation of combustible lint. Reference Sections 504.1 and 105.2, IMC 2003.
12. Provide a dryer exhaust for the second commercial dryer in room 168. Reference Section 504.7, IMC 2003.
13. Provide justification for not installing a hood over the proposed convection oven in the prep area. Reference Sections 106.3.1, 202 (light-duty cooking appliance), and 507.2, IMC 2003.
05/10/2007 ROBERT SHERRY PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Denied 1. Revise the font size used on the drawings to a minimum of 1/8-inch (all upper case). Reference Section 302.3, Uniform Administrative Code, 1997.
2. Provide equipment data for the commercial clotheswashers. Reference Section 103.2.3, UPC 2003.

4. Coordinate the water supply to the building with the site plans. The site plans show a 3" water meter and a 3" reduced pressure backflow prevention assembly near the southwest corner of the building. Note that reduced pressure backflow prevention assemblies are required to be installed in locations accessible to Tucson Water.
