01/31/2006 CHRISTY FOREMAN BUILDING-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Approved
02/08/2006 ROBERT SHERRY PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Denied 1. Revise the orientation of three drain connections (east of A-7) to the building drain that runs east along column line A. Reference Section 311.7, UPC 1994.
2. The modified gas equipment schedule, shown on sheet P1.3, indicates that a single rack/revolving oven (DA-115, 190 CFH) is being installed, not two ovens with inputs of 82 CFH each. The gas equipment schedule also shows the installation of a donut fryer (BA-116, 60 CFH), and a dishwasher (DA-114, 20CFH) which are not indicated on the gas piping diagram or the piping plan. Coordinate the drawings. Reference Section 103.2.3, UPC 1994.
3. The field-assembled 2-way cleanout shown in detail 17/P1.3 is in violation of Section 707.6, UPC 1994. The 2-way fitting referenced in Section 707.4 (4), UPC 1994 is a single, approved fitting.
4. Terminate condensate drains in accordance with Section 307.2.1, IMC as amended by the City of Tucson. Note that while Section 807.2, UPC 1994 allows the condensate to terminate at the tailpiece of a lavatory, the local interpretation is that the condensate may not terminate at any other type of sink. See keynote #30, sheet P1.1 and sink RK-105 (shown as RX-105 on sheet P1.3?), located near N-2.
5. The addition of roof and overflow drains on sheet P1.1 shows the new rain and overflow piping being combined. This is in violation of Section D1.1(d), UPC 1994. If the primary and overflow (secondary) piping must be combined, provide structural calculations that the structure of the roof provides adequate capacity for the ponded water. Reference Section 1611.1, IBC 2003.
02/09/2006 ROBERT SHERRY MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL REVIEW Denied 1. Comment not addressed. Provide information to show that the make up air for the kitchen hoods (MUA-1 and MUA-2) complies with Section 508.1.1, IMC 2000.
2. The structural detail (42/S1.0) limits the hood weight to 300 pounds but the hood schedule on sheet M1.2 shows that the hoods weigh from 400 to 1500 pounds. Coordinate the structural detail with the hoods being installed. Note that Section 507.6, IMC 2000 calls for the supported hood weight to include the possible weight of personnel working on the hood.
3. The ventilation calculations shown on sheet M1.3 call for 435 CFM of outside air to be supplied to the Deli (kitchen). How is this air being supplied to the Deli?
