| 01/13/2006 | ROBERT SHERRY | MECHANICAL-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | 1. Provide a signature for the envelope compliance statement on the updated energy code compliance calculations. Reference Section 101.3, International Energy Conservation Code 2000. 2. Revise detail 3/M1 to show a minimum of 6" of clearance from the vent and combustible construction. Reference Section 504.7, IMC 2000. |
| 01/13/2006 | ROBERT SHERRY | PLUMBING-COMMERCIAL | REVIEW | Denied | 1. The gas piping layout shown on the plumbing plan does not clearly show installation of the piping. Provide a riser diagram for the new gas piping. Reference Section 103.2.3, UPC 1994. 2. Revise detail 5/P2.1 to include both ends of the sleeve in the detail and indicate the relationship of the sleeve to both structures as previously requested. Provide details to show how the installation complies with Sections 313.2 and 1211.3, UPC 1994 as amended by the State of Arizona and Section 2114.12, IBC 2003, as amended by the City of Tucson (for the existing building). The submitted portion of detail 5/P2.1 does not conform to Section 1211.3, as amended by the State of Arizona, due to the termination of the pipe sleeve within a concealed location. Provide evidence that the structural engineer has approved the embedment of the sleeve in the stem wall per Section 1906.3, IBC 2003. Note: show how the underground section of gas piping is detectable per HB 2256, "Excavation Markings; Underground Facilities; Procedures". 3. Provide a shut off valve for the natural gas service to the restroom and laundry building. Reference Section 1211.9, UPC 1994. 4. Clarify how the new piping for the existing building and for the new building connect to the existing meter and RPBP. Show how the new water piping relates to the existing water supply system and show that the additional connections do not cause the existing piping to be overloaded. Revise the size of the existing 2" RPBP as required. Show the required shut off valves for the building services. Reference Sections 101.5.1, 605.3, and 610.2, UPC 1994. 5. Coordinate the plumbing plan and detail 3/P2.1. 6. Revise the calculations to include all of the new and existing plumbing fixtures and the new evaporative cooler. Show how the new water pipes were sized. (Include all fixtures and the water requirements of the HVAC equipment when calculating the total demand and determining pipe sizes.) Reference Section 610.1, UPC 1994. 7. The fixture connection sizes called out for the flush valves will result in water velocities greater than 8 FPS. Limit the water velocity to less than 8 FPS for the copper piping. Reference Section A 6.1, UPC 1994 and IAPMO IS 3-93, Section 610.0. (See items #26 and #32 in the Sloan FAQ page: http://www.sloanvalve.com/index_2840.htm#basics ) Note that based on the submitted calculations, a 1" pipe cannot support 10 fixture units on a flush tank system or a flush valve system. |
