1. Sheet E1.0, Note 1.6 references the 1999 National Electrical Code. NEC 2002 has been effective in this jurisdiction since July 1.
2. Installation height of receptacles has been specified to be 48" AFF. Please specify installation height of welder connection as well, at a height exceeding 18" AFF.
3. Please change all references made to "Class/Division II" to read "Class I, Division 2", or justify otherwise.
4. Please change reference to "NEC 511-4" in Note 1.2 to read "NEC 501.4.
5. Please change reference to "Art 501-5" in Note 1.2 to read "NEC 501.5 and 511.9".
6. Please change reference to "NEC 511-10" in Note 1.4 to read "NEC 501.12.
7. Please note that EMT is not listed as an acceptable wiring method in a Class I Division 2 area. Reference NEC 501.4, Wiring Methods. (A) (1) of this Section allows threaded rigid metal conduit and steel intermediate metal conduit. Suggest that one of the above be chosen and that Note 1.3 be revised accordingly.
8. Please insert a note specifying the wiring method in the in the space above the Class I location. Note 1.3 would be a good start, because EMT is an acceptable wiring method for this space, as would be any other metal raceway. Reference NEC 511.7 (A) (1).
9. Please specify that all fixed electrical equipment installed less than 12' above the floor level such as switches, motors, or other equipment, be of the totally enclosed type. Reference NEC 511.7 (B) (1).
